Yep, I think I fit in that category.

Was gobbling a lot of Cialis (I was double dosing plus some more- not good) but even that became gradually more ineffective.

At same time I knew I had significant psychological issues as well.

So why did I choose to go down implant road? Fairly simple decision at the end. I am in my mid 60’s and what was a given was that I was progressively getting worse on both fronts….and getting older, time is gradually running out.

Did not want to go the injection route, it was just going to put off totally failing for a little while longer. Head wise I was also in a downward spiral. I had to make the big decision.

Not even four weeks post implant (haven’t even started cycling yet) but already I feel so much better about life. Still lots of worries about this and that but deep down I have a pleasant strange confidence. It’s a real nice change.

Time will tell as to what actually happens. Fingers crossed.

I do fit that category.

Some days the erection health is healthy (Which gives you hope you don't need one),

Then there are times its not rock hard (and wishing I had just got the implant already).

I am 35 and had this for a long time. The only reason I have held off is simply that, Im 35.
If i was 55, I would have had it done 100%

If you dont mind me asking, where are you at in the journey?

I had been through Viagra and Trimix that both became maybe it will work this time, maybe not. I would still get an occasional morning erection. My depression was getting worse. Spent a year thinking about it, finally scheduled surgery at 68 years old. It was my first surgery as an adult so I was anxious and nervous to the max.
Glad I had it done. I'm in the group that says wish I'd have done it sooner.

I am scheduled in 2 months. I was the same from 37-40 maybe and started injections too soon perhaps... but now I'm relived, to be honest. I could have fought this battle for ten more years and I would only spend that decade stressed out. It's almost a blessing the injections damaged me to the point where I have no choice at 42. But these years when I'm free to travel and still in shape... the best years to have a 100% dick.

On top of that, Clavell can fix my downward curve and web/short frenulum at the same time. I honestly think I'll be happier than I ever was (functionally). I still need to figure out libido issues, but I am sure the stress of it failing is a big part of that too.
Oct 7, 2025 - Coloplast Titan XL - Touch pump - 26cm - 0.5cm RTE with Jonathan Clavell. Still sorting out TRT; plan to try a "modified natty" approach without injections.

First surgery as an adult at 68 yo. Hell, I don’t know whether to congratulate you or ask you if you’ve been dormant throughout life. Joking aside. That’s pretty good.

i would say for me yes . i did pretty good sex health wise ,up to early 60s . then i started using whatever supplements might help ,for blood flow, libido etc and combined with off brand cialis .
it started to be a project though . And if i was under rested or intoxicated, "whisky dick " good luck, fingers crossed . What i did with one younger filipina girl -34 to my 62ish , was to have sex with her and cut my orgasms short, that way i stayed in the mood and would wake up with a big ol fat woody .
but for one that Cialis gave me terrible heart burn ,it kept me awake ,and i would have to kneel at the side of the bed to try and alleviate it and a few years down the road it was harder to duplicate . And i had seen info on malleables , hard 24/7 . I thought that would be great , so i went that route .
my one disappointment is loss of girth , i could not then find any information on what size rods -mm would be suitable for what size girth a guy has. And for me, 13 mm that i received was to small .
other than that it is pretty good .never any worry about if the pill will work,or if I'm rested enough to perform .
i can have a girl get me off ,riding me and keep going, and she will get me off a second time ,with no break in-between . That was new and a nice surprise .

So, what are you doing about it. Looking for new urologist, or?

I have a few final tests fo complete (under urologist guidance), then I can comfortably say I have exhausted all options and getting an implant is the right path.

Hey, appreciate the reply. Why didn't you get a regular penile implant since implants are superior to malleable rods?

.

haha , yeah superior. Different . Not superior .
For one i dont want to be cut open , over and over .it might 3 months or 3 years . who knows . and i do not want to have to pump up my dick . Or all that hardware inside me . the doctor plopped all that ipp stuff on the table and tried to talk me into it ,and all i could think of of was ; holy crap ,all that goes inside ? no thanks , not for me .
"kiss" -keep it simple stupid
what i do is whip it out and im ready , all inferior and all .
and props to the guys who do go with an ipp , i hope they do well and do not need a revision for many years to come .

Hi.. Appreciate the reply. I'm confused by your experience with an implant, hope you can clarify.

You said you had an implant recently. Have you not tried it yet with your girlfriend or wife?

What do you mean by "cycling"?

You said you were "gobbling a lot of Cialis" even double dosing. How many times a week were you doing this?

I look forward to your response

.

Sorry about late response and confusion.
I’m in a very dysfunctional relationship so if you don’t mind I won’t go into detail on that.

But late last year I was taking 5mg Cialis daily as a baseline. Then if I had an opportunity I would take an additional 20mg. That then went to taking an additional 40mg. Did that for nearly three weeks straight. Other than massive side effects (headaches, blocked nose as well as bleeding etc) I remained absolutely flaccid (hence my theory of psychological issues as well). I knew I had a significant problem.

The only upside was a woman I met last year at that time who was very sympathetic to my dilemma. I was an absolute dud but never once did she ridicule or humiliate me. We hung out for a few days and agreed to catch up again sometime in the future. Will be meeting her in early November. It will be an interesting experience. She has no idea what I have done.

So no I haven’t yet tried to see if it works even though I’m approaching 4 weeks since the procedure. Cycling (process of inflating / deflating pump) begins in a week and a half. Since the implant I think they left me about 30% inflated. So I have no idea how long my new erection will be. I know I will get a good 6 weeks to cycle before I see her. Whatever size it ends up being is what it will be.

As an aside, I am still absolutely gobsmacked by the guys that were given the go ahead to start the cycling process around day 3 after the implant (even more so for those that had the incision in their scrotum- mine was infra pubic). I’d like to shake their hands.

It was the last thing on my mind for the two weeks after the operation. Maybe it’s just me.

Obviously keen now to get started but will follow my surgeon’s directions.

So…..my headspace is in a good place at the moment. I am very confident that if the situation presents I have a very good chance of being able to perform. That is a nice change from being a guaranteed dud. That underlying confidence is a very nice feeling to have
