Thinking about backing out.

Postby tankerman » Tue Apr 23, 2013 10:50 pm

Hi guys, I am thinking about backing out of the Implant becuase I have been reading alot of negitive post on here and to be honest it scares the shit out of me. Loseing feeling, loseing length, loseing the ability to cum, floppy glans,it might work it might not, complacations, to much trama to the penis, ect ect ect,,, I thought the implant was the 100% cure all what the heck guys!!!!
I am 48 years old have had ED since I was 16, I can get an erection but I can not maintain it, tried pills I dont like the side effects, tried Trimix it has been hit and miss, I think I should get an implant.

From my reading of posts in this forum, it appears that most men suffering from loss of feeling had previous damage from other forms of surgery, particularly prostate surgery. Let me suggest that if you have not yet tried injections before leaping from oral drugs to an implant that you should give that serious consideration. I could have overlooked some posts on this topic, but I don't recall seeing any that suggest that the nerve damage was a result of the prosthetic surgery; rather, it seems that most loss of feeling was pre-existing.

My question is what are your backing out to? Needles, headache (viagra) pills, ED? My doctor in town measured me and wanted to put a 12cm titan in me. I knew I would be 2" shorter easy. I flew from NM to Nashville to get it done right. There are doctors who err to small with not much concern and then there are dr's that know what there doing and give you a good fit based on flaccid stretch test. I told him I wanted to get to 6" which was realistic and he said I will get you close. I am basically there at 7 months. If you have no cancer or diabetes or major age related issues.... getting a good doctor will pretty much garantee you will be better than you are now. Communication with your doctor about realistic expectations and using a vacuum pump for 6 weeks prior to op and paramount. They cannot commit to any size expectation overall but being pesky about getting the size of your flaccid stretch test is reasonable. My wife likes it and that is the biggest test.

Tankerman,

As we have discussed, I was implanted with the Coloplast Titan in December 2007, which completely corrected
the ED which I developed Post-Prostatectomy in February 2004.
I cannot over-stress the importance of selecting a highly experienced and highly skilled Implant Surgeon to perform this
Procedure. Do your homework and choose such a Surgeon should you decide to proceed.
At the end of the day, that decision is yours and yours alone!!!
Best of Luck,

Bob

Did you REALLY read those posts and understand them? I agree with Peckerwood ... an Implant does not in itself cause any of the negatives you quoted. For you there is a age difference compared to most here ... almost all of the guys that have issues, have scar tissue, blood flow problems, and pre-existing nerve damage. Any URO will tell you ... you will feel (sensations) after whatever you feel now (erect) ...

If you are worried about your size ... The general "rule-of-thumb" is to pull your flaccid penis straight out, as far as possible ... now look down, that is about the length size you will get from an erect Implant.

The only way is forward.
I am sixty-six years of age and dealing with gradually worsening ED for twenty years. At sixty-three I wanted something that worked reliably. I got an AMS 700 LGX implant in 6/25/13. I am entirely pleased with the outcome. My surgeon was Dr. Karpman.

Tankerman can you explain how you could hold your erection for 3 to 5 minutes? Do you think your ed could be physcological? If you dont think it is then what the HELL is your option.. Have a limp dick or have a hard one which could be abit shorter and might not be.. Now im in healing but im much smaller and ive other complications but i can tell you that at the start i was highly depressed and if i dont regain size and if my penis doesnt point downwards i will be depressed but not half as angry, depressed anxious fustrated etc as having a limp dick... But take the worst case scenario there is options available... There are revisions where the likes of eid garber perito etc will size you properly, for floppy head there is some sort of gel that eid injects into your head! Although most men that had no peyronies, diabetes, prostate cancer, sould have no problem with blood flow to the spogiosum(head) so i took ten years to make my decision and the truth of the matter as of yet im not impressed. But lots of men regain size in time so id advise you to weigh the options.. Can you go the rest of your days LIMP???

Tankerman,
You have been highly selective in your reading then. you are obviously reading and dwelling on the posts of guys with problems and decided those were going to be your problems. The VAST majority of guys love their implants. But, if this is where you are emotionally, you are right. Stop dead in your tracks and get a shrink. I'm totally serious. Get to a therapist. You are not thinking straight. No doctor wants you for a patient if this is your mental condition. If this is where you are emotionally, then there are some other issues at work. Deal with them first. This is not meant to be harsh, and you're probably going to be angry with me, but being scared is normal - if you are not willing to go through with it, you're not ready for it. Take action. Make a decision. Get help with it all. This is a well-intentioned slap up the side of the head.

This is the final frontier. When you face this decision there is only one logical choice, push on with it. If you have other options, you are not ready for this. Personally, I had no problem making my decision, and I have not had second thoughts about it. My trusty Titan OTR has been a blessing to me for about 16 months now.
