Recently received coloplast penile implant, the issue!

Postby Bilko79 » Wed Jul 30, 2025 11:54 pm

I initially saw the surgeon 6 days after the procedure. Of course I was healing and still continuing down the path. I’m not scheduled to see him for another two weeks and I want to pump and deflate. I am having the hardest time to pump. I’ve been on prednisone for 8 years and my scrotum has shrunk, extremely tight. The. Pump is on my left side and my testicle is right above it. I find the pump of the ball pretty hard and I can’t squeeze it hard enough, a few times it slipped out of my fingers and hit my testicules, somewhat painful. I’ve watched videos and I just can’t do it. Any techniques you can recommend?

Bilko, you need to try to get hold of the flat section that houses the valves then clamp it firmly to stop the bulb from shooting off.

Also, when you squeeze the bulb, curl your index finger around the base of it while it nestles against your middle finger.

That will prevent it from escaping when you squeeze hard.

If you are finding it hard to squeeze the bulb, try squeezing it with the part of your thumb that is closer to the knuckle. The further from the tip of the thumb, the stronger the force.

I don't know whether being in a hot bath or shower will loosen up your scrotum, as it usually does, but it's worth a try.

Have you been cleared by your doctor to inflate and deflate? If not, then if I were you, I would wait until you meet with your doctor again and get the go ahead to inflate and deflate.

But if so, use one hand to hold the pump still while you pump with the other. The bulb will be hard to squeeze for a while. Steadying the pump with one hand will keep the bulb from slipping out of between your fingers.

Pumping the bulb at first is usually an issue for many.
I have the same question as Time2Change, has doc cleared you to inflate yet? Don't risk breaking the thing before you get to use it. Give it time to heal.
I use both hands to pump. Hold the ball on my index finger, semi-fist so the ball sits in the crook of the knuckle. Secure the pump with the other hand/fingers and pump with that thumb.

“ a few times it slipped out of my fingers and hit my testicules, somewhat painful.”
That’s a bit of an understatement! It F’n hurts bad enough it’ll make your eyes hurt.

What everyone has been saying. Did you doctor authorize you to cycle? How about authorize you for a warm bath?
If so, massage your balls for a bit, tug your pump down feeling for where everything is at, then circle your fingers around it to steady it while continuously massaging your balls. Now slowly squeeze it. Don’t squeeze it to pump till you do it lightly a few times to know it’s not going to jump out and you hurt your balls. Continuously massaging your balls while doing this also protects them if the pump jumps.
Doing this in a tub of warm water helps a lot. But only if authorized to do so by your doctor.
Bad things can happen if not authorized.
As you progress you will end up pumping different ways dependent upon how you are standing, laying down, etc. Everything changes almost daily.

Hey Bilko I am impressed and amazed at the same time that you even consider trying to use the pump so early after the implant. Did you have an infra pubic or infra scrotum procedure?

I am 12 days post op and I am glad that I’m not scheduled to start pumping until week 5. I am still a bit tender down there.

Happy at this stage to not have to even have to consider activating the pump.

My ‘job’ for the next few weeks is to just gently massage and stretch the shaft as well as massage the scrotum and pull / wiggle the pump downwards.

Having said that, whilst I was having a feel down there I thought I might have accidentally hit the release button (I am partially inflated) so I gave the pump a bit of a squeeze to close the valve (just in case). Wow, that pump feels as soft as a rock!

That aside I am still amazed at the different instructions given for implant procedures (start asap v hold off for 4 weeks plus). I had an infra pubic procedure. Just guessing, if you had an infra scrotum approach it perhaps would be even more tender down where the pump is.

Started pumping at day three with the Scrotoplasty added to the procedure. Dr Eid told me a draw back with the Scrotoplasty is that I wouldn’t be be able to start cycling as soon, but it was in my instructions so I did it.
Those little slips made my eyes hurt.
Very happy now.

Because of slippage, I still use a sheet of paper towel to add grip. It works much better.

Thank you for all the replies. Well I got the hang of it, cycled for 2 days last week and had sex twice. I was still recovering at the time, but now the pain is much worse. I called the surgeon last week the office said he can’t see me until Wednesday. His nurse called me back, she had no answers and said she would call me back after talking to the doctor and that didn’t happen. My penis and scrotum feel like it’s burning and my shaft is extremely sensitive and painful along with my scrotum. I work and have to wear pants much bigger because my penis goes straight out. Any pressure on my penis hurts and so I can’t wear underwear. I tried deflating fully so my penis can easily bend, but that is not happening. I don’t have temperature, but I’m in pain more than before. I’ve used a heating pad, but I think it’s made it worse. I wonder if I can use lotion around my shaft and scrotum to possibly help with the burning? I hardly get any sleep at night because of the pain. 400mg of Advil doesn’t help much. My appointment is Wednesday at 3pm and it can’t come fast enough. Any suggestions?

Bilko, welcome to the bionic world.
A question: when did you have your implant? It is probably too early to start cycling and sex. I felt the pain up to about 3 weeks, although it didn't start immediately after the surgery, and I wasn't given the greenlight to cycle till 6 weeks. Hang in there. You have still time to recover.
