Bike with an implant ok?

Postby Steve5231 » Tue Jul 22, 2025 2:47 pm

I’m considering purchasing a bike. Haven’t had one for years. Is it safe with an implant I got about 1-1/2 years ago? It’s an AMS cx.
75 years old. Was on Viagra and then Cialis but got fed up with the side effects. Switched to Tri-Mix 3 years ago but had increasingly reduce effect. Finally implanted 1/19/2023. Always looking for advice. Live in Illinois.

Steve, I'm an avid bike rider, I ride anywhere from 100 to 200 miles a week. I have the AMS LGX 18 cm with 3 cm rear tips. I don't have any problems with the pump or my bionic dick in my bike shorts.
I've had my implant almost 4 years now.

I do use saddles that don't put pressure on your perineum. I have a ISM PL1.1 40 on my 2023 Specialized Tarmac Expert and a Specialized Power Saddle on my 2015 Specialized SWorks Tarmac.

I don't think you'll have any problems.

PM me, if you want more help,

i have a malleble and rode 12-15 miles every other day , sometimes in a row . But ditched that weird skinny bike seat for a wide padded one before i had the implant . As did every one i know [ not fellow impanted ]
one ride with those 2x4 wide seats ,they complain their ass hurts . and buy the old style seat.

After my 6 weeks activation post op I asked my surgeon about getting back on the bike and he said no problem.
These days I'm not as avid a rider as SWorks but I've been out riding a handful of times so far.
It's the middle of our winter and I don't enjoy windy cold weather rides. I'll do more when it warms up again.
First time out I was a bit saddle sore afterwards but each time after that has been comfortable.
I also use saddles that relieve pressure on the perineum and ball sac.
I like Selle SMP saddles but there are plenty of similar designs around with an open centre channel or split.

Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Recovery great so far but have a bend.
