Confirmation From My Urologist

Hey all...

I have a local Urologist I see in addition to Dr. Hakky who will be doing my implant surgery. The other day I went to see him to make sure I had recovered from a case of prostatitis I had a couple of months ago (all cleared up). He asked me during the visit if I needed a refill on Trimix.

I told him no, I have plenty for now and I'm planning to get an implant in a few months. He said "Oh...who's going to do the surgery?" I thought: Oh, here we go, he's going to tell me he does them and then it will be awkward when I decline to use him...

I said "Dr. Hakky in Atlanta is doing it." He seemed to recognize the name and just nodded, and said "You're smart to go with somebody who does a lot of them."

So there you go, even the Urology community knows and will sometimes acknowledge what we know here: not all surgeons are created equal, and those that specialize in implant surgery and have seen all of the permutations, complications, sizing variations, etc. are worth their weight in gold to us patients.

Totally 100% agree with you. The most important decision you have to make is picking the right urologist.
As to what they implant you with, in my opinion is a distinctly a secondary consideration.
