1 Month Post Op - Cylindar buldge - Need help!

Postby BionicBro2025 » Mon Jul 21, 2025 2:00 pm

So I started my implant journey in May, got the Coloplast Titan 24cm + 1 RTE w/ classic pump at end of June from Dr. Yafi at UCI (amazing surgeon btw). I'm now two weeks into cycling and i noticed the right cylinder is now bulding on the side of my shaft. It is perfectly straight (no buldge) on the left cylinder, but the right it buldges out and makes my penis shaft take on a curve on the right side only. Few questions...

CYLINDERS.jpg

1) Is this normal? Do I need to tell the doc?

2) Is there anything I can do to fix it?

3) When i fully deflate, my penis looks deformed (like a flattened straw or flattened water hose. Is that normal? I usually just add a few pumps to make that go away, but nobody has ever told me if keeping a few pumps in it is ok to do...like is there any issue with keeping it with some liquid in the cylinders all the time?

4) Then, I saw a video w/ Dr. Pireto that says to inflate, grasp base, and then fold inflated shaft up, down, left and right. I am really unable to get it to do anything but go straight when it's inflated...it's too hard to bend whatsoever.

Hoping someone with experience can chime in here. I have been mildly freaking out, as I have a hard time getting a detailed answer from my doc's office. The nurse that responds usually with a "yes, that's fine." I would really like them to give me a bit more detailed answer. lol

Thanks everyone in advance.

I’m not saying this is it, but do you have a larger RTE on that side? The left side of my shaft is a little obtuse compared to the right; it became that way as I cycled and it just stayed. I have a larger RTE on that side, and that appears to be the issue.

But, yeah, you need to speak with your doctor, not a nurse.
40. Implanted July 5, 2024, AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic "hard flaccid" ED following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, TRT, even spinal injections. Nada.

Thanks. I had the same +1 RTE on both sides, but I do know that he sizes agressively. I will reach out to the office today! Thanks for your reply.

Your situation is an interesting one. I’m 21 months since implant.
My surgeon is Josh Randall in Mission Viejo. He isn’t an aggressive implanter, sorry to say, and I’m one and a half inches shorter and half inch thinner..
He implanted the AMS 700. Very acceptable flaccid look, except that there is a slight kink on the left side of my shaft, which disappears when I give the pump a few squeezes.
My Dick used to be left leaning now it leans right. I suppose the docs can’t really restore a penis to mother natures specs, but it would be nice if they could get a bit closer, right?

You definitely need to talk to your doctor, but they all seem to let their nurses or physicians assistants deal with us after surgery. I had to insist on talking to him at one point, which was granted, but I had to be a bit aggressive.

Also, bear in mind that you are still in the healing stages before you panic. I know how you feel, though, so insist !!!

I’m assuming you actually live here in Orange County, and didn’t travel here for surgery, right?

Thanks for your message. Yes, I live in OC and yes, I had no idea that the nurses and PAs run the show after surgery. :( That is somewhat disappointing and feel like a number now, when prior to surgery felt like I was a priority.

Thanks! I do trust my doc, but he hasn't seen me since the day after my surgery to remove the drain, but the doctor in residency saw me for the cycling appointment and I must say it wasn't doing it then. The "bulge" just started a week ago..after inflating a few days. Do I have complete faith in the doctor in residency? I dunno...he thought I was too "narrow" for a coloplast in the initial consult, to which Dr. Yafi disagreed and said a coloplast would be totally fine.

Also, my D was as straight as an arrow prior to surgery, and like I said was also straight the first few days after cycling to 100% and then showed up all of a sudden. No pain other than the pain from cycling, and urine stream is fine.

I'm just trying to stay in front of any issues. If it's normal, cool. If there is something wrong, I'd like to know and get it fixed. I mean it's ok to drive a car around with over inflated tires, but they will eventually cause issues....so ya... that's where I'm at. Lol. Maybe I need to schedule an appointment with Dr. Eid in San Diego, or schedule an appt with Dr. Randall.

Yafi's office staff just got back to me with the following message... "We got your message and thank you for the illustration. It was reviewed by Dr Yafi and his fellow. This is normal. With the frequent inflation or cycling, the corporal stretch (the expandable penile tissue) and it would flatten the bulge eventually. Continue cycling. If there's any other concern please let us. Thank you"

Based on my experience and others, this does seem unusual - especially the fact the bulge appeared out of nowhere after a period after the surgery where there was no bulge.

The most troubling issue would be if bulges worsens with tip or the tip start to feel uneven. Could signal that the corpora didn't heal properly and the cylinder is coming out.
62 year old, ED+PD, Coloplast Titan 22 cm no RTE in 2019 with Dr. Irwin Goldstein => failure, now with plaque excision/tunical expansion to Coloplast Titan 26 no RTE in 2022 by Dr. Darshan Patel, now with classic pump 2024 :D

I have a slight bulge, too, and no RTEs. I would say it has decreased over the months and is barely noticeable now.
ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.
