More Important than the Implant

Postby Old Guy » Tue Jul 08, 2025 1:11 pm

After my years of having a Coloplast Titan a bigger threat has affected the ability to use it, my health status. It's my own damn fault for abusing my body for so many years, but now that it's too late other health issues have impacted the use of my implant.

I can still use my implant but my lack of conditioning, lung issues, and medication use have severely limited me. I knew better being a retired health professional, but never acted on what I should have been doing.

So more important that getting an implant is the ability to use it. If your body gives out it doesn't matter how rock hard you can keep your penis. Do all the things to help keep you healthy, exercise, limit tobacco and alcohol, don't use street drugs, get annual physicals and preventative immunizations. Don't be a me. And I'm stepping off the soapbox now.

Old Guy,
sorry to hear that, but you are right, if your health issues are unconditional to using the implant, it's for sure not easy.
However I still hope, you can enjoy some kind of pleasure with the implant, aren't you?

Sound advice! Thank you, Old Guy.
ED worsened over 25 years, likely VL. Went through pills and injections, and results faded over time. Implant AMS 700CX, 21 cm, no RTE, on 6/3/24.

yup , exercise is great for us . its hard when we are doing it , but makes feel great afterwrds . feeling those muscles pumped .
I retired at 58,now 66 and i was bicycle riding 10 to 15 miles every other day , was until a broke leg from another motorbike cutting me off .
But i miss the bike riding , and am still doing push-ups, [using my knees for support },arm curls , crunches, while i recover . and looking forward to the bike rides again .
i never did drugs other than pot in high school, and grew to hate that .
i do drink daily but ,one rum on the rocks . more on the week ends , got to enjoy life too.haha
Exercise keeps us healthy and helps mentally as well , its fights off depression as well .
i dont know your age old guy , but you could benefit from any type of exercise , just moving and walking around is a good start . best wishes to you .

Sorry to hear this Old Guy. I am getting a little on the weak side myself. 35 years a commercial bee keeper and always staying in shape. we do it in the X fashion with me on my side and her doing a lot of work. Doesn't take to much energy.

Yup. Gotta exercise and be mindful of booze and food. Hope you are doing better. As you likely know baby steps add up. You can do it.

Sit ups /core important plus cardio for maximum health and bionic benefit.
Believe post prostate surgery I was around 5 inches down from 6. Never measured girth but post titan otr 20 cm seems thicker.

I know I'm on borrowed time but try to enjoy every day I have left.
I've never done any kind of drug, but alcohol has always been a part of my life.
About 4 glasses of cheap boxed wine is my only vice.

I quit smoking cold turkey in 1963 so I guess that counts as a plus.

We have sex every morning, but my wife is only good for about 6 minutes.

Golf once a week and not much more exercise. It's so goddam hot here that I'd have to walk very early in the morning. I'm always too busy doing puzzles like NY Times, Sudoku, KenKen, Wordle, Mini Crossword, Septle, Quordle, and the crosswords and other puzzles in the newspaper.

I know it will all end, but I just try to enjoy life as much as possible. My wife does the same but she keeps busy doing all the landscaping, and taking care of the pool. She's 84 and is a freak of nature health wise.

I can relate to this. I've been finding similar issues as I've gotten back to having "normal" sex again post implant.
Retired for a number of years now. I had a sedentary career and knew it wasn't great for my physical fitness.
Smoked from mid teens to early twenties before giving it up permanently. Never touched drugs.
Although I do enjoy drinking moderately, usually just a couple of glasses of red wine with dinner.

I had been very active when younger and decided to get back in shape around mid forties.
I resumed distance running, took up hiking, cycling and other activities. I became very fit, running several marathons and competing in many other endurance events. At the time my resting heart rate and other vitals were not too far way from that of an elite athlete. During that period I could have sex for as long as I wanted. Thrusting long and hard, never out of breath even for a second. Stayed that way well into my late sixties.

Fast forward a few years, one total knee replacement, a radical prostatectomy, a number of minor surgeries, and now an implant. The recovery from all of these things, and simply just getting older has gradually eroded my fitness level to a lot less than I'd like. I now have the ability to fuck indefinitely with the implant, but my lungs start screaming eventually and I have to take a break. I'm still quite active and probably in better shape than most others my age. I walk every day, do some hiking and cycling as often as I can, and do all the strenuous maintenance around the house, pool etc, but my fitness is still a far cry from where I was. I've accepted that I'll never get back to that level, but I'm trying to claw some of it back over time.
My goal is to be able to last until orgasm without a single rest break :D.
71 y.o. married from Sydney Oz. PC and nerve sparing RRP 2022, but still profound ED since. Tried pills, injections, shockwave therapy, VED. Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Recovery going well.
