Buried Penis Repair?

Postby Courage » Thu Jun 05, 2025 10:40 am

I've gone through consults with some urologists about getting my salvage malleable replaced with an inflatable. The doctor who made me feel the most confident recommended going in infrapubically and, interestingly, recommended undergoing a buried penis repair. While I'm overweight (though much less so than I once was), have a short flaccid, and had to be extra careful to aim when urinating, it never occurred to me and was never suggested before that it was "buried."

Putting aside the technical meaning of buried, it would have the benefit of making the revision easier by getting fat out of the way. It would also make me bigger (visually, anyway). I'm sure I've lost size with the infection, and I'd really rather not go in through the balls, which are scarred and still sore.

The downside is two surgeries instead of one and delaying getting a functional penis back. I also can't find nearly as much about what the procedure is actually like as I can about an implant.

Anyone know anything?

I would limit surgeries unless they are absolutely essential. I have a whole new perspective toward vanity surgeries after going through this
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled for Coloplast Genesis 5/19/25

I would just make sure the urologist is confident with doing both at the same time. I underwent a scrotoplasty at the same time of my implant install. In your situation, it might make sense to go from infrapubic, but may increase risk of another infection with a really big belly incision to remove the fat above the penis.
65 with ED for >10 years. Failed pills, not happy with injections. Implanted 6/24/24 (AMS CX 21 cm) with Dr Darshan Patel at UCSD.

Yeah, he's talking about the fat removal, wait some months, then the revision.

I hear you. As with all things sales I fear being told what I might want to hear.
