Hello,
I was implanted with a Titan 24/no RTEs on May 21, 2025. The day after I went to the office to have the JP drain removed on the May 27 (a painful process), I noticed a bulge approximately 1 inch on the left from the base of my penis. It felt like tubing. As the swelling in that area decreased, I could more visibly feel the tubing (a curved section a little over an inch). I emailed my surgeon's office on the 28th (he was out of town the entire week) and followed up with better pictures over the weekend and requested an appointment with the surgeon upon his return. Today, his nurse informed me in an email that it was probably just the reservoir and to keep my original appointment (June 17). I can tell from touching the area that it is tubing (likely from the reservoir). The only "medical" opinion that I have at this point, then, is what I glean from the internet. My concern is future erosion through the skin of the tubing and, frankly, the appearance (the bulge is very obvious). I suspect that, at the very least, the surgeon will need to go in and reposition the reservoir and tubing--I actually won't know until June 17th if that is the case, apparently. My questions:
1. Has anyone else had this experience?
2. If so, did the surgeon treat it?
3. If so, what was the treatment? What was the recovery period?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I have the same issue, it's been over a year now. I seen my doctor a couple of months or so after surgery about this and he did nothing about it as if it's normal.

Was your surgery infrapubic? My surgeon told me that the palpable tubing at the base of the penis in common after that surgical approach because of limited access that low. It appears those with penoscrotal surgery have less issues with visible/palpable tubing. The upside is (allegedly) faster recovery from IP surgery vs. PS.
It sounds like it's not a technical concern, though I could see it certainly being an annoyance and undesirable.

It was infrapubic. I was unaware that this was a risk, and I don't see having something that looks like a hernia as an acceptable outcome.

I also have the same problem, two months after the surgery, the doctor saw and told me that the pain would go away, but the bulge of the tubes would remain, right now I really feel it and it's annoying. My partner also feels, right in the first 5 cm of the penis, unpleasant, I hope for the best.

I have the same issue. I met with my surgeon’s PA and she said she never saw this before. She sent me for a CT scan saying that it might be a hernia. I don’t believe her. It’s the damn tubing. I have been concerned about it because it looks like a giant lump and is noticeable. It also takes away about an inch of penetration. There might be some good news. I have found that after I inflate, I can actually push it in and remarkably, it seems to stay until the next time I inflate. The downside is that it becomes sore after I push it in (it requires a lot of pressure). I also have a numb dick and would never allow a surgeon to make any more incisions. The big problem with this whole process is lack of support from the medical community. I just get the feeling that they simply don’t want to hear about complications. At least, this is my experience.
69 years old. Prostate cancer followed by radiation. Implanted with Titan with classic pump on 3/24/2025.

Re: Bulging Reservoir tubing
honestly hiding the tubing is an art.
Most brands come preconnected with a certain length of tubing (which is a one size fits all, and often longer than needed). This causes more often than not some redundancy of the tubing.
Some doctors send the tubes up the shaft of the penis which makes them very palpable. Other doctors know how to do some tricks to hide this in the scrotum. And finally, some doctors (like Clavell and Kramer) actually cut the tubing to the exact size you need.
The benefit of cutting the tubing is you won't have redundant tubing going in circles in your scrotum or going up the shaft. The theoretical downside of cutting the tubes is that the connectors could become a weak spot. That being said, i haven't seen anyone have a revision because of a failed connector (at least on this forum, there might be though).

Re: Bulging Reservoir tubing
The correct placement of the joint supply connector has a lot to do with use of RTEs , hope this resolves on its own for you swelling still may be a factor.
