Revision surgery pain

Postby Nocturne » Sun Jun 01, 2025 10:13 am

His painful is a revision surgery?
Is it less painful than ten years of anxious sex, failures in bed, and being told “Try these pills. Try these injections. Try this device. Try this talk therapy. Try again.”?
Genetically sky-high Lp(a) of 390 led to various heart diseases. Ultra-low testosterone of 120 (now 480 with Clomid) also contributed to ED at age 41. Managing with daily Cialis, but for me, the implant is a "when", not an "if".

I haven’t undergone a revision, but in theory, the corporal space has already been created and fibrous capsule is already matured. This means less aggressive dilation is needed leading to less surgical trauma and post-op pain. This is assuming there’s no infection or extensive scarring to clear...but like with everything in surgeries, every patient is different.

I just had a revision replacing my pump on April 2, 2025. somehow it got disconnected from my cylinders.
They went through my scrotum to replace it, and
the surgery was done without the need for a catheter.
I didn't have any pain, i was sore as hell. After 6 weeks I begin cycling again.
I know it's not the same as replacing everything.

Six weeks seems a long time if they only replaced the pump. Did they leave you inflated during that time?

My doctor who is one of the center of excellence doctors Loh Doyle at USC Keck asked me not to start cycling until I see him which was 6 week after the surgery.

Revision was a whole lot easier. Never took any of the pain medication. Used just Tylenol. Always have had good tolerance to pain. Minimal swelling and no bruising at all. Wife drove home after surgery. The trip was about 4 hours due to traffic from New York. Laid flat on my back for 2 days. Did get up to walk a bit. I removed my own catheter on the third day. No problem urinating. Ice the first 3 days. Then warm baths. Started to play with the pump by day 6. Not really a full inflate but was able to identify inflate/deflate and pump up a bit. After a week doing I was doing small projects around the house. At the 2 week mark I removed my own stitches. Continued the warm baths and didnt really over do activity. Also at 2 weeks was able to pump to max and hold for 30 minutes. No loss in length and looks like I will gain some girth. Over all, I had zero problems. Followed Dr orders to the letter. BTW, the revision was done by Dr Eid. Dr Eid is a rock star and his staff are great too. Couldn’t be happier !!!

I've had two full revisions in as many years. My original surgery and the two revisions weren't bad at all with the revisions being easier ( swelling wasn't as bad as the original ) but the biggest thing is the swelling and bruising - they look bad but really aren't at least in my case
