MPP implant - The time has come
A little background about me. 69 years old American, retired and living in Thailand. I have had mild ED for 20+ years and it got to the point that with pills I could get an erection but lost it if I used a condom. In 2020 I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and had my prostate removed.
After the surgery I had no erections for about 16 months then started getting nighttime erections and noticed I had developed Peyronees disease. I did a phone consult with Dr. Govinda about surgery and after looking at some pictures he suggested I would be a good candidate for traction therapy rather than surgery and we could do surgery later if needed. I did that for some time and my curve changed from left to upwards and it is moderate when I am less than 100% erect. At full erection the curve upwards is now about 50 degrees and not suitable for sex. During that time my stretched length improved from 4 3/4 inches to 6 inches which is what I was before surgery. My Pyrenees is not much better but I am glad to have restore most of my lost length.
I have read many threads on Frank Talk and have finally decided to get an implant. I have a few questions that will help me decide where and with whom to have the surgery.
Who to have surgery with?
In Thailand there is I believe only 1 urologist doing implants at this time (the main doctor has retired) and he has done about 50 so not my best choice. I am looking at the following doctors and would love to hear from anyone who has experience with them.
Eygpt - Dr. Osama Ghattis and Dr Osama Shaeer
India - Dr. Govinda and Dr. Gautam Banga
Turkey - Dr Karaman
Any other suggestions for surgeons in this part of the world are welcome.
I have looked at some U.S, surgeons but the cost is just too much as my insurance will not cover this surgery. My biggest concerns with having surgery overseas are 1) language barrier particularly with the staff and 2) post surgery follow-up after I return to Thailand.
At present I am leaning towards having the surgery in India and use the services of Cure India which is a medical tourism company. The main advantages are they help with all your arrangements and pick you up at the airport and drive you to and from your appointments. They also provide a translator to manage your case. I am wondering if anyone has used Cure India and if so what did you think about their services. I can afford their services so the extra money is not an issue.
I would like to get the Rigicon 10 but the Coloplast Genesis would be my second choice. Conceal-ability is big for me as I live on the beach and lift weights so do not want to be sticking out too much particularly when lying down on my back.
Another question, I have stowed my Penis up and to the left my whole life so stowing it downward will be an adjustment for me. For those who have the malleable implants how difficult was it to urinate in the first month or so after the surgery. I pee often since the prostate surgery so am concerned about that issue. One night I woke up with a full erection and the need to pee, I could not straighten my penis at all and had to pee in the shower, which is fine when I am at home but not if I am at the mall for instance.
I have read most of the threads on malleable implant journeys and am forever grateful for the information many have provided on this forum.
Thanks for any and all replies,
Scott

Re: Malleable implant - The time has come
Dr. Osama Shaeer (Egypt) topped my list after my own research.
Dr. Raman Tanwar (India) follows close behind. Both are known not only for surgical skill but for high integrity though that’s no knock on other surgeons. They were honest and didn't display extreme bias or affiliation towards a specific manufacturer.
For upward concealment, any malleable will work, but Genesis bends the easiest. It also stows downward with the least effort. Rigi10 comes next, while Tactra is the stiffest of the bunch!
I found urination noticeably easier after the first 4 days.
In India you’ll also find the Zephyr ZSI 100, Promedeon Tube, and Shah implants. Shah excels at upward concealment, even better than Genesis! Zephyr ZSI 100 is relatively new in the Indian market. Promedeon falls between Genesis and Rigi10 in bending ease.
Good luck, brother! Keep us posted on your progress and decisions.

Thanks LastHope, not too familiar with those newer implants but definitely not interested in the Shah implant, just imagine you go to the doctor and he says take off your clothes and put on this flimsy gown-no way to keep that shah implant from sticking straight out in that scenario. I did not realize the Genesis was easier to bend, makes me more comfortable if the doctor suggests that over the Rigicon.

Yes Scott! Shah and elastic waist band must always be together.
Keep in mind that Coloplast has no official penile implant distribution center in India (to my knowledge), so you won’t find a Coloplast Center of Excellence or be able to activate your warranty, even if a surgeon can source the device internationally from vendors.
For the Genesis, Egypt would be my choice.
The ZSI 100 malleable from Swiss company Zephyr is reported to have good bendability on par with the Genesis, despite being relatively new on the market.
If you decide on India, Dr. Gautam Banga is a good option, he implants Rigi10 and Rigicon has an official presence in the country.
Both Dr. Shaeer and Dr. Banga are easily reachable for online video consults when you're outside Egypt/India. I've had my online consults with them.

Thailand ! wot ! wot ! boy they have some beauties over there .
in the philippines thailand is famous for the "ladyboys" going there for boob jobs and what not . but when it comes to malleables their price was from$8500 -$9200 . about the same as usa i think i first went to egypt to the dar el zokora Andrology center in dec 2024 . ii had to check my text with them ,but the ridgi10 was $2500.
the clinic was clean and modern . people where polite etc . but i ended up not using them for a few reasons .
one was while corresponding with them ,they kept telling ME that THEY would decide what type of implant i would receive . i made it clear what i wanted and if they were not agreeable , i would pass. then when i did arrive for the consultation . it was the hard push for the ridgicon ipp ..again .
second was the run around i got at the hospital across the street. , the clinic had no apparent affiliation or pre set up routine for the clinic . for the most part it was like a surly walk in clinic where you would have to wait hours on end . Although it is a full size hospital .
i ended up walking out .
then , the next day the clinic called and asked what happened . and said ok .we will skip a few of the b.s. tests ,do the others in the clinic . but by then i had changed the flight return trip and didn't want to do that again .
so if you can go there prepared , ask for the tests to be done on site . it is actually a clean modern clinic with the lowest price . $2500 for the ridgi10
i was kicking myself for a month for letting my impatience get the best of me afterwards , but its a done deal .
i ended going to new deli india with dr sabharwal . thier required testing was breeze .in and out within a hour or so . but got talked into a tactra , which is ok . But the implant method of penoscrotol i think isnt the best , the rods need to be doubled over to be inserted and i suspect the hinge area is damaged doing so .
the cost was 3500 , they picked me up at the airport and to and from the hotel and to go to the clinic.
you need a visa though to get into india . i did it online ,and india is something else . cows wandering the streets like pets and good luck finding a place to eat on the street . i ate at the hotel , and as far as the food there it was good . lots of spice done just right .
has caroline john hospital been mentioned ? the shah indian @$1750 and ridgi10@$3250 including all meds . that was extra for me at sabharwal's clinic .

Man, I need a Thailand trip!
Ready2go, here's the quote I received from Caroline John Andrology from India about 4 months ago. 90 minute drive from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
They can be reached at +91 93452 83206 using WhatsApp.
CAROLINE JOHN ANDROLOGY, Dr. M. Joe Kaushik
Zephyr ZSI 100 $2,800
Promedon Tube $2,600
Rigi 10 $2900
Tactra $2900
Indian implant (SHAH) $1,500
Penile implant surgery requires 2 to 3 days stay at Caroline John Hospital. The above mentioned prices are inclusive of all the cost including discharge medications. Only your food and travel will be excluded.
I paid $16,000 here in the US. My bad! I was too scared to travel overseas to get my dick sliced and diced. Antibiotic prophylaxis, no touch technique, sterile protocols such as antiseptic scrubbing and frequent antiseptic irrigation during surgery by a high volume surgeon are the things that matter the most for infection and complication prevention attempt.

yeah, Thailand .we might go in about 4 weeks if i can hobble around by then . My German friend and pinay gf have spent time there and like it . good food . elephants and such . Besides the fact they have female beauties there .
so at Caroline John Hospital the price has gone up 2 - 3 hundred bucks or they gave me higher price for what ever reason .
i had been texting with them through a patient of theirs at first over my questions about the ;no need to bend hinge ,on my tactra implant . That might have something to do with the price they gave me . Being a possible repeat patient of a malleable .
Still though . Not expensive .
the place in Egypt though at $2500 . Would have been good if not for that run around in the hospital . but on the plus side ,my recovery was actually very uneventful . i would have left even earlier if i could have changed the flight , they have me .anti biotics , anti inflammatory's , pain meds and a few others i can't recall right now . oh anti fungal i think

Ready2go, your experience in Egypt is just what I want to avoid, possibly by using Cure India or similar medical tourism company. How did you arrange the airport pickup and transport to the clinic in India, was that through a third party or part of the service the doctor provides? I am not familiar with Caroline John Hospital, do they have a good reputation, I just have not come across them in my research yet.

That's ok, I was just curious as I had not heard of that hospital before.
