Simple question. Inflatable or malleable, and why?
What made you choose one over the other?

Inflatable - easier to conceal, not walking around hard and erect all the time, and less likely to erode through. For me there were too many issues concerning malleable implants, and the ability to "adjust" how hard you are is a bonus as some women might want it a bit softer so it doesn't feel like they're getting pounded with a steel rod.

I'll throw my hat in for the malleable. Easy to conceal, virtually no likelihood of mechanical failure, lower chance of infection. Spoke with my surgeon before choosing between IPP and MPP and he initially pushed the inflatable on me but understood my choice, and remarked that "the risk of erosion between the two is virtually identical." Both him and his PAs explained that erosion risk is largely an issue of implantation technique and sizing. Separately, if you have diabetes, the risk is much higher regardless of whether you go malleable or inflatable because of the way uncontrolled blood glucose spikes affect your tissues.

I have an inflatable titan, but it was explained to me that the malleable (the original implant) has its advantages if you have arthritis, your ability to squeeze may be impaired, but you can still bend it up.

All great answers, I am not sure on my next one if I need another.. I walk a lot (t1 diabetic) and with my IPP s, I have to conceal, it hangs great and I don't mind a little show, with a malleable I don't know how much more noticeable it would be.

Im in the same boat trying to decide...it seems you have people who love their IPP and also those that have numerous complications and are unhappy. Of course you have the same thing with malleables some seem to love them but others dont. Unfortunately there will never be a clear answer I am afraid. Right now I am leaning towards the malleable just because I am more a minimalist and I enjoy simplicity. I think the worst thing about the IPP is that I personally would worry about it malfunctioning and having to have a revision but that is just me. I am very active and a runner so that does concern me with the malleable. Like I said it sure is a toss up

I'm biased toward malleables, but I'll try to wear an objective hat for once. My health insurance doesn’t cover penile implants, so I had to pay entirely out of pocket. That meant I couldn’t afford the risk of multiple inflatable revisions if needed. I’m forever grateful to thedriver for sharing his implant journey and educating me about true device reliability through his experience with high-performance utility of inflatables and malleables. Financially, multiple revisions would put me in a tough spot. So, I chose the mechanically reliable, zero-moving-parts malleable option. That said, if I ever need a revision and my insurance covers these fucking implants at that point, I’d consider trying an inflatable. Why? I’m a fool for novelty and new experiences. But if it fails mechanically in less than 10 years, I’d have zero tolerance and go straight back to a malleable.

Inflatable. The reason was very simple. I wanted a dick that worked & looked like my natural dick as close as possible. You can tell me all you want about how natural a malleable looks. But it will never look like my natural dick in the soft state. Since I'm not aroused most of the time. A malleable won't look natural most of the time in my eyes.

I didn't have a fear of a revision. Medical stuff doesn't last forever. Pacemakers need to be replaced, I've had dental fillings fail. Also I have insurance. My surgeon is only middle aged & he is local to me. All of the so called "benefits" of a malleable were of no value to me. A perpetual erection might be appealing to someone that hasn't had a decent erection for years. But I didn't want a 24/7/365 erection. I remember as a youth having a spontaneous erection in school. It wasn't a fun event. Lack of insurance or considerable savings makes a malleable appealing to lots of guys. Especially if they aren't USA based. So I understand the appeal of a malleable to them. Thankfully I'm not in any of those situations. I don't regret the choices that I made. Btw, I just passed the two year anniversary of my implant. Still works perfectly everytime that I expect it to work.

A malleable just didn't fit my wants, needs or my medical situation. Not even closely.

Do the surgeons implant a slightly smaller malleable than IPP ? I thought I read that on this site . The reason....because the Malleables are erect ALL the time , being slightly undersized will help prevent erosion.

I'm having an implant put in in the fall, and I'm going with IPP, even if I have to pay out of pocket (seems likely right now). I get why the guys who get malleables choose them, and I'm sure they work fine in general. Personally, I can't get past the idea of a pipe cleaner or Mr. Gumby in my penis that I flex around. Just kind of creeps me out.

The IPP most accurately simulates a natural penis in all states, and you get the bonus of adjustable rigidity. Just my preference, no shade thrown on the guys who like the malleables.
