Implanted with ability to get semi hard?

Hi. Has anyone gotten an implant who could get semi hard before surgery? My urologist is suggesting I don't consider an implant because I've been getting semi hard now for a bit. (Had prostate removed 3.5 years ago, the cause of my ED).
If I take Cialis now, I can get a bit erect if stimulated. The doctor says I shouldn't do implant if I can get semi hard regularly. Anyone else hear that from doctor?

I was implanted a month ago and really happy with it.
I was still getting (shitty) erections. When aroused my cock would get thick and semi hard. And if everything was just right I would VERY briefly (30 seconds or so) get really rigid. The same was true as I approached orgasm. The last 30 seconds or so before climax I would get very rigid.
I was regularly waking with morning wood as well.
BUT! I wasn’t rigid when I needed to be rigid. It didnt matter to me that I could still be rigid because it wasn’t dependable. I needed a functional penis.
So, if your semi hard erections are firm enough for what you need to do, then you are set. But if they aren’t firm enough for sex, then do something about it. Time is slipping away. Pills, shots, implant.

Indianaguy, I agree with GoodWood. If it works and does what you need, stay with it and maybe therapy to make better ? I had a semi hard but it wasn't rigid enough for PIV, and my Dr agreed it was time for an implant. I'm about 4 months post-op and thankful to be on a new path.

If you can get semi erect, an injection of Tri Mix could get you all the way there. I would try that before taking the implant step. It helped me for awhile, until it didn’t.
Did your doctor make you aware of that option? If he didn’t I might consider another doctor? Is your doc a urologist?

Doctor has me with Trimix. It mostly works, but I've had difficulties with the injections and keeping the erection long enough for anything.

Get the implant. I had a working dick before i got the implant. Problem was it's so big that the amount of blood that it needed would just not get it hard hard. I could still have sex but there was no amount of blood in the world that would get it as rigid as say a 5 inch dick. Ive used trimix and wouldn't wish that shit used on my worst enemy. I had pain in my taint and balls for 6 hours after that injection. Also who wants to stab a needle into their dick. I am used to giving myself needles because of my trt but in your actual junk? nah.
Getting the implant even though ive had a hell of a time healing, is the best thing i ever did. Pump it up, forget about it, do your magic, and deflate with a smile. They say nothing is as good as a blood filled dick. I say that's a lie. My dick gets harder than a natural erection, i can keep going if needed, and it makes a pretty cool talking point.
the mental toll it was taking on me was enough for me to choose the implant. You know how they say choose the man or the bear. Ill choose the implant over the home grown erection every time. and i still know when i get excited because my head and undershaft get hard still. so its a win win.

Post RP (nerve sparing) I needed Cialis and/or Viagra to get a useable erection for sex with my wife. It was adequate for a few years but as I needed higher doses (with increased side effects) we needed to switch to Trimix. Worked great for a few years until I got a “hook”, and dosing became less effective. I’ve also lost about an inch between surgery and atrophy. Now 10+ years post surgery I’m giving up and planning to get an implant late this summer. In the meantime I’m doing VED exercises twice daily plus daily 5mg of Cialis with encouraging results so far. “The hook” is gone and any partial erection I can get with meds is pretty straight.
All that said I wish I had gotten an implant years ago. I feel like I’ve wasted time and wished I had broached this with my urologist long ago.
Good luck with your decision.

Get a new Doc. Skip the injections.
You won’t be looking over your shoulder you’re going to be so happy you did it.
