For my malleable guys that paid out of pocket in US, who was your surgeon, surgery date, & total cost?

Hey everyone! I’m starting to save up some money to get a malleable implant down the line. I’ll be paying out of pocket and I’m looking to stay in the USA. I should have a consultation with Hakky in the near future but before that wanted to get a sense of what folks end up paying (generally) for a malleable in the USA out of pocket?

Curious on people’s surgeons, when they got the surgery, the total cost, and any unexpected costs that came up.

Hakky is a good choice. Not only is he a terrific surgeon, but he's also quite possibly the only one--at least of "the Big Four" (Perito, Clavell, Kramer, Hakky)--who does not have a knee-jerk response against the malleable.

Jan 2025 Coloplast Genesis - I paid $16,000 cash.

Rigicon Rigi10 - $15,000.

I've forgotten the quote I received for Boston Scientific Tactra.

wow, one of the things i like about living in the Philippines and being close t other Asian countries is the cost of products and services . Every thing is a fraction of the cost here . Due to lower wages . and rent etc .in India i a paid 3 thousand for the tactra ? ill have to look that up
plus the flight and hotel .in Egypt it would have been $2500 for a ridgi10 if i didn't get flustered with the doctor first pushing hard for a ipp , then the f.u mr foreigner run around at the hospital for the long list of tests they wanted done

$3,000 for a Tactra? Man, I feel ripped off by the great American healthcare system! PM me where you got your implant, I need a backup plan if I break my toy. :D

Thanks man! For Hakky I was budgeting about $20,000 give or take, so this makes sense. I’ve seen some quotes from him closer to $24,000 but I think this was for IPP.

It was $22K for inflatables where I went and about $6-7K cheaper for malleables! The difference is only for the device cost!

the cost of the malleable device absolutely does not cost 15/16k anywhere in the world, the surgeon can ask whatever he wants to install a malleable, that's another story, the cost of the malleable does not go beyond 2.5K

I agree, Frank. $9,000 for a pair of silicone rods! With many decades of prosthetic lifestyle ahead for some folks, getting a good health insurance hopefully helps deal with these inflated prices!
