Advice for pain (8 days post-op)

I'm 8 days out and my pain/soreness/discomfort comes and goes but when it comes, it hurts! It's strange because for several hours during the day, it doesn't really hurt at all. But without rhyme or reason it comes back.

Icing and heating provides minimal relief. I've been taking various OTC meds but they don't seem to help too much? Anyone have any other ideas to reduce the discomfort?

Ok phew I think lying down with legs elevated is providing some relief... Odd though because it seems sometimes it helps but other times it doesn't. Any other strategies or tips appreciated.

I was given Hydrocodone and Tramadol. Neither did much for my pain. Doc then gave me Percocet. That caused constipation which was worse than the implant pain. Quit them, used cannabis for pain control after that.
At 14 days doc allowed me to bathe, and a hot bath each morning eased the soreness until later in the day. Then I used Aspercream, a small dab smeared on my shaft kept the soreness down most of the day.

I had horrific pain for weeks. I used ice and heating pads constantly, slept with a pillow between my legs and took pain meds. Still hurt like a bitch. Just have to grit through it.

Heating pad by this point is going to be a bit effective than ice IMO - however - Tylenol and takinng it easy. Sitting is going to be a pain for a bit - try to limit it - reclining helps. Don't over-do it on the walking and 'getting about' - took me a couple of weeks before I could spend more than an hour or two out of the house. The pain will come and go - your body is adjusting - small things can exacerbate the pain - so try not to do TOO much yet.

My pain and discomfort lasted for 13 days. Luck of the draw on who suffers or not. My surgeon let me know beforehand that it's 75 percent good recovery and 25 percent not so good. Pain killers and Ice helped. Over 2 years in and all is very well. Recovery takes time.

i had mine done recently in the end of november, i was in a decent amount of pain too but by day 10 thats when it felt like the recovery truly started, swelling and everything started to dramatically decrease day by day after that point. by day 14 i wouldnt go as far to say i was pain free, but it was super manageable. Just ride out this first 2 weeks man, feel sorry for you self, stick your ass in front of a screen and try to keep your mind off things. Sleep when you want to sleep eat when your hungry and dont sweat about doing much else.
