2nd time around

Good day. I received my first implant 8 years ago this past November in St Paul, MN and I received the 700CX. The surgery was way less painful than I had anticipated although, since I am a long term type 1 diabetic, they held me for an overnight stay. I went home the next day and the day after I went in and put a half day in at the office. I know that my experience was a lot easier than a lot of guys here but nearly 8 years to the day my implant failed and I had to get back in line for everything to get replaced. My Dr had left the area and I had a new Urologist running the show. For both surgeries, I advocated it being done with a spinal vs general anesthesia (although I was not conscious for either but I also was breathing on my own and did not ever require a breathing tube). This second time went great as well. I went in for surgery on 3/13/24, was discharged on 3/14 and went to work for 6.5 hours on Friday.

I am NOT trying to minimize others pain in the recovery process but I also want to let those of you who are on deck or on the fence that in some instances, it can be a pretty easy process. I did go home with the instruction to make sure that the penis is pointing up all the time and that using a jock strap could be helpful in that. Two issues that I have with that is that the rubbing of the fabric can be an issue to a sensitive unit and in my case the vertical incision was still having some discharge. I really did not want it to stick to the supporter and so as a solution, I actually placed a thin women's Always pad in the supporter. It has done two things, it has kept the wound clean and has kept my unit locked in place. For what it's worth, on Sunday morning I was able to run 3 miles on a treadmill since my penis wasn't moving around.

Guys, when my implant failed, I had no hesitation in signing back up again for the revision. It made a huge change for me.
