Implant Journal - 41 Year Old Gay Man

Postby MiddleAgedMiami » Wed Mar 13, 2024 5:57 am

Well, I’m sitting in the waiting room at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach waiting to be taken back for my implant surgery at 7:30AM today. All kinds of anxiety and second thoughts, but I’ve done a ton of research and I’ve made my mind up.

I’ll provide my experiences here for the benefit of others along with before and after pictures. This forum has been very helpful to me as I’ve navigated my experience making this decision.

My background: I started dealing with situational ED around 3 years ago. I still have full natural ability, it just increasingly fails me in high stakes situations (new partners, very attractive partners, etc.). I used pills and then injections. The pills were hit and miss. And I’d have to use so many combined with heavy drinking that it wasn’t healthy. Injections worked almost every time, but I always had a 4+ hour erection that had to be taken down with more injections— not exactly fun. I was diagnosed with minor venous leakage.

I’m gay, so I have lots of opportunities for sex, but I found myself increasingly turning down hot ass because I wasn’t sure id be able to perform. So I decided that at 41, I don’t have unlimited time left of prime sexual life, and a perfectly working penis that didn’t work when I needed it most didn’t really work for me. So here I am.

My procedure is covered by my insurance thank goodness. I paid about $300 out of pocket toward my deductible. I’m having the procedure done with Dr. Billy Cordon, who comes highly recommended and who trained with Dr. Eid and uses the same “no touch” technique.

I’ll provide more updates after the surgery and in the weeks and months to come.

3/13/24 Day 1

I’m out of surgery, in my room and honestly feeling way better than I thought I would. When I woke up immediately after surgery I had pretty bad pain in the abdomen, but that was managed right away with pain medication.

I’m currently partially inflated, and it looks good as far as I can tell. I still have a catheter in. But I am able to flex my penis already by pushing blood towards the head, so I think that’s a great sign hopefully signifying that I’ll make good progress in my recovery.

More to come later

Day 2

3/14/24

First of all, thank you all for your well-wishes and words of support. It helps to know there is a community of people who’ve navigated this before, and that makes things much easier.

Now to the update: Catheter is out, bandages are off. No fever, and everything is clean thank goodness! When I got up there was some blood dripping from my penis, I think the scrotum, they said this was normal.

Pain is manageable. I took the morphine option last night to ensure a good nights sleep and that worked out well. I stepped back down to oxycodone today for pain management. I am reasonably sure I’ll be good on Tylenol after a couple more days. I had a little bit of shooting pain in my dick but not constant. I am being released to go home today.

I was implanted with 22 cm Titan with classic pump and 125 ml clover reservoir. My erection size currently is good, and will only improve with time and cycling when that time comes. Just at a glance I can tell there will be no major (if any) loss of size for me, and that is a huge relief.

Pics below taken right after bandages were removed.

Hope all goes well for you. I had surgery 8 weeks ago yesterday. I was implanted with a 24 cm Coloplast Titan with classic pump. I have posted on the forum a few times previously. My surgery went well, but I never had such pain in my life, and this coming from a guy who has cut into his leg twice with a chainsaw, once through the kneecap. My pain was mind boggling for the first five weeks. It still hurts, but each day seems better. I had my follow up telemed call a couple weeks ago and got the green light to begin cycling and using it. My penis is still numb on the left side, getting partial feeling back on the right side and scrotum. I have been able to climax with masturbation a few times, but with pain. Cannot climax with penetration yet.

I'm kind of in a different situation in that I'm married to a woman, but totally gay. (She knows.) I was so starved for guy sex that I've probably outdone it the last couple of weeks, this morning being the latest adventure. But, it is incredible to be able to go, go, go for as long as I want until the guy taps out. After "usage" it hurts and it's really screaming at me this afternoon.

My biggest (no pun) problem is that I cannot seem to get my tool deflated enough to be comfortable in my pants. I have exactly one pair in which I don't look completely obscene. (Anyone remember Christmas Vacation? "He was a beastly, bulging man!") I'm wondering if, since my Dr. left me 60% inflated for 6 weeks, the capsule around the reservoir became established and now won't expand any further? I squeeze as hard as I can, literally making marks on my dick, to try and get it shrunk further, but after 2 minutes, it just seems to refill with fluid and hang semi at about 7 inches which is so difficult to stuff into pants without showing and more importantly without pain. I seem to constantly be adjusting and trying to squeeze again to make it smaller. I race home from work to get my pants off. Not sure what to do and it's frustrating. The pump is behind my nads, but very low. Much lower than the twins. It makes it easy to find and inflate/deflate, but it pushes down so far that I am constantly adjusting my sac as well to try and gain some comfort.

But, overall, I think I'm glad I had the surgery. Trying to be positive rather than negative, but it's a challenge. Still a learning curve for sure. I know some guys have very little pain, but that was/is not my experience. I am totally happy with my Dr. and the surgery itself. I really don't think anyone could have done better with the procedure and I'm very satisfied with size. In fact, I do not want to get any larger than I am now. Just have to learn how to store the thing when not in use, I guess, but if anyone has any tips, I'd sure appreciate info on how to deflate more.
