THINKING ABOUT IMPLANT

Postby gusord » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:53 pm

I am thinking about getting a penile pump implant. Any advice out there on what type to get ? In the mean time
I will buy a viberect. My eurologist wouldnt sign the prescription for it so I got the psychiatrist that I see to sign
it. I had all the paper work explaining about it and its FDA approved. Does medicare and my secondary insurance
federal blue cross/blue shield pay for most of it ?
I just purchased about 60 pills of levitra from ALL DAY CHEMIST [ each 20 mg ]. Whats the consesus about the
different implants ? The one thing I would fear is having the implant and have no feeling in my penis. Any one
out there know of this happening. I have had ED for at least 10 years.
My report on the prostate samples taken came back negative today - thank GOD.

Basically there are only two brands ... Coloplast Titan and AMS 700 ... either will provide a satisfactory outcome.

You can Google either and read up on the benefits/drawbacks of both ... most of us here have AMS 700 LGX.

Depends on if there are any exclusions built into the policy (some do not cover ED related issues) you will
have to have your Urologist submit to your Insurance company ...

The sensations are the same ... providing your don't have any issues now ...

Good luck and keep us posted of your progress ...

Bionic,

Thanks for your imput. The main problems right now are 1] the difficulty in getting an erection thats very strong
2] when I try to penetrate my wife with a weak erection she gets some satisfaction 3] I dont ejaculate or
in other words the semen is not coming up through my penis/a little while back I could ejaculate with some
semen but not much.
A question here is how do I tackle the problem of getting enough semen in the penis. Is this from a low
testosterone level ? Also keep in mind the amount of medication I have been on since 1994.
For now I am going to purchase the vibirect and see what happens. Eventually it may come down to having
an implant.

Implant is a good choice if you need it and you might. Another choice is injections; I used them until the quit working for me about 3 years back. Now I have an implant and it works great.

No loss of sensation in the penis, easy recovery, no significant loss of length, less side effects than injections or pills that didn't work. Injections for me always left me feeling a little sore and I felt like my penis was an overfilled balloon while they were working.

If anything my sensation is slightly improved since implant. I might not be a good comparison since I have had a radical prostatectomy and that has a tendency to mess up sensation. Strange thing for me was that I could get erections while sleeping that would wake me up, but any significant movement or attempt to put it to use would result in instantaneous wilting. The equipment worked but the controller was out.

What treatments has your URO suggested? ... I would recommend the daily Cialis (5 mg) and start using VED (vacuum erection device) many guys here use
alldaychemist.com ... (works out to about $1 a day) be sure to ask URO about any interactions with your existing medications.

As for VED ... if you have good insurance, they will cover the cost ... ask URO to set it up for you ... if no Insurance you can find the cheap ones work just as well.
Typical cheap but effective pump ($15.97)

Ask your URO ... as there are many causes ...
