Doctor said
“I sent the message to Urology department, who informed me that DHS does not offer penile prosthesis as we knew, however, they also informed me that they also do not accept the out-of-network cost for the procedure.”
That’s what he said.
But Dr.Faysal Yafi accepts Medi-CAL. How’s that possible that doctors are accepting insurance that doesn’t allow a prosthesis?
Anyone else had this issue?
Help me out please.

40 years old. Had partial ED for years.
Implanted in November 2024. Infected.
Another implant in December’24.
22 cm Coloplast + 1 cm rear tip extenders +125 cc reservoir.
Pre-implant : 6.5 x 4.5 inches
Now: 6.2. X 5 inches
Couldn’t be happier.

If the Dr does other covered procedures that will make sense. My insurance ( just found this out ) does not cover the implant surgery, but it covered the stricture surgery done by the same Dr. So the Dr can and will accept an insurance carrier even if the carrier doesn't cover implant surgery. Hope you can find an alternate way to pay. Good luck
