My PT Surgery Progress...

Postby Bigdog4all » Tue Feb 13, 2024 10:14 am

Hello. I made it through surgery an I find it necessary to keep you guys update. I will keep it simple and try not to over talk it. This is from my day to day memories.

Day by Day Progress…..

Thursday…..Day 0
10:00am - Arrived at hospital
12:00 (Noon) – Laying on Operating Table
12:15pm – Started Anastasia – Started saying the 23rd Psalms
1:40pm – Rolled into Recovery room
2:00pm – Rolled into Overnight hospital room, for overnight stay
3:00pm – Penis very sore, painful, and tender
4:30pm – Morphine injected into IV
6:00pm – Took Oxy pill
8:30pm – Morphine injected into IV

Friday…..Day 1
12:00midnight – Morphine injected into IV
Afternoon and all night – Penis very sore, painful, and tender. Legs were spread wide open. Could not touch penis. However, no swollen balls. Only sore Penis. Every time I had to pee…..painful
8:00am – No signs of swollen balls. Balls were tender…..very tender. Treated with Ice, Ice, Ice. Penis sore to touch or squeeze.
12:00 (Noon) – Released from Hospital. My wife, while driving home, found every pebble, pothole, and bump, even seemed like I felt the white lines on road.
Throughout the day, took Oxy and Ibuprofen 800’s.

Now the Pain…….The most painful part of the entire operation, was the Drain and that damn hose. It felt like someone drilled a hole in the pubic area, and stuck a plastic straw in to drain. It felt like they shoved the straw into my pubic area and into my right nut. When they removed drain setup…..I could have screamed. Talk about pain. And that damn, Catheter, Who invented that damn thing? I didn’t feel the Catheter being inserted, but when they removed it, I almost kicked the nurse in the head.

I would like to thank all of you with the comments that procedure was not terribly painful. You were all correct, but you never mentioned a damn thing about the Drain or Catheter.

Saturday…..Day 2
Removed my bandages.
Tried to be grown and walk to the mailbox and around the dining room table several times for exercise. Big mistake…..should have laid myself down.
Pain continued in the Drain area and right nut……Seems like the right nut is fighting for more space.
I was able to sit only on my tailbone. Could not sit normally in any chair or sofa. I could only sit on the edge with my tailbone, even in my orthopedic office chairs. And getting in and out of bed…..That was a work of art. Sliding in and sliding out of bed. Never could just sit on edge of bed.

Sunday…..Day 3
I was forced to keep my butt in bed and get some much needed rest. Since sleep was very impossible. Could only lay on back with legs wide open.

Monday…..Day 4
Rest…Rest…Rest
Each and every day, I took meds and drank water, water, & more water. I drank so much water, hell it began to taste like water. I never knew it was that much BS on TV. Talk about nothing. Not sure if it’s me or in my mind, but I don’t think I pee the volume, just more times than before surgery. It’s still early and I’m still learning. Hope to keep you guys updated with my actual experience.

Weird, you had such a a problem with that catheter.
I woke up after surgery with that thing stuffed in me and other than the fact it was cumbersome, it really didn't cause me much discomfort or pain.

In fact, it came out fairly easily.
My nurse just told me to take a deep breath, clench your fists and two seconds later it was out.

Regardless, glad to see you made it thru.
Expect a few rough days ahead.
Keep ahead of the pain and Ice your package on the regular.

You will be bragging about your amazing sex life in a few months.

Thanks for keeping us updated. The first one was fairly rough for me back in the day. I was in the bed for two weeks. The revisions that I’ve had have not been painful. The revisions have been discomfort but not pain. I had another revision today and things are going very well.
Also if you ever get another surgery tell them you want extra extra lube. It makes a tremendous improvement afterwards.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

Thanks for keeping us informed. I must have been the luckiest man on earth. I had zero pain. Only took one pain pill before the ride home 1.5 hr ride.

Got home and had the wife not stop at home but go to the pharmacy to drop off my script, just in case,

Never needed the pills!

Hope your recovery goes better.

I'd say my pain was about average, based on what I read on FT.
I had a lot of swelling of my balls, as well as a sizeable adema just behind my glans.
It did finally get back to normal after a few weeks, and all is going well now.

I didn't have a drain, just a catheter.
They sent me home the day of surgery, and I removed the catheter myself the next day.
I remembered the sting from a surgery many years ago, so I deflated the bulb, took a deep breath and pulled it out in one quick motion. It does kind of take the breath away for a couple seconds. :o

Good luck. It'll take some time. Just stay in touch with your doctor, and follow his instructions, and you'll be good to go before you know it.

More updates......

Tuesday…..Day 5
Rest…Rest…Rest
Drink water…water…water. I stopped ice. Heat and warm (twice a day) showers. Some relief. No meds, only a couple Ibuprofen 800’s. Warm showers seem to help a great deal. My script plan is to double warm showers and change linen on EVEN numbered days, Germ phobia. So far, nothing is out of norm. No major pain, no excessive swelling, and interesting enough, not much length shrinking, but nice girth. I’m even starring and admiring what I see in the mirror.

Wednesday…..Day 6
Rest AM of day. Walked to mailbox a couple times. Walked around the dining room table several times, for exercise. No abnormal pain, other than right testicle and drain area. Took more warm showers. However, the night time was different. Soreness throughout the night. Might have been from exercise. Took no pain pill.

Thursday…..Day 7
Forgot to mention, last day for anti-biotic pills. Took a total of 7 anti-biotics pills. One per day. Today was a good day. Warm shower twice. Still can not sit directly on anything. Sit on left hip or tail bone edge. No direct sitting. Balls in the way. Still sleeping on my back. I was able to lay on my side, a little, if I give the balls some space. The right ball still feels like he’s being crowded out. Sort of like that blue ball feeling.

I had pd so doc pumped me 80% hard and left it that way for 4 weeks. Pain level 1-10 was a 15. Even used oxycontin for pain. NOTHING could touch it. Not even a loose shirt tail. Went 4 weeks with it basically out in the breeze.

Friday…..Day 8
Two warm showers today. (WARM) seems to be offering more relief. This is the start of Week 2. So it seems to me, and I am not a doctor, that the First week - ICE, and somewhere starting the Second week - WARM heating pad (Not Hot but warm), with warm showers twice a day. No meds today…..but still, plenty of water. Started today, no underwear. Just them hang and air out. Also, that right ball seems to be getting use to having to share space. I started bending Mr. Winkie, UP for direction.

Saturday…..Day 9
Yes, Warm Heat seems to working great for me. No ICE at all today. No meds. Went for a ride in the car with my wife today. Started normal human things, like walking outside, more stairs, standing more, so today on a scale was close to a 7 or 8 day. No major stairs and outings cut to an hour or so. But, it was a good day. Now, I am not saying I’m back to fighting, running, or workout condition, because it’s a still a gentle reminder that you have had something down, down there. I still have seating issues. Balls hanging too low. So I made a home made seat back on Day 2. However, I can't post a pic. Img, not working for me. PS.....if someone knows how post a pic, please PM me the steps.

Sunday…..Day 10
Hallelujah, it’s a good day. Balls seem to have more room to play. Guess they getting use to their new neighbor. And yes, I can touch and feel all three of the guys, with no pain. I’m not exercising or pulling on anything, just touching. I go in to see Dr.URO, Post checkup on Thursday – Day 14. Guess he will be pulling and tugging on stuff then. Today is a damn good day. So to summary, difference is, 1st week on ice, then 2nd week warmth. Nothing else did I do different.

Monday…..Day 11
It was another great day. Two days in a row. Still can’t sit flat in chair but it is what it is. I am now using warm heating pad for the second week. Warm heat is very soothing. No more ice, unless URO says so. So far, ICE the first week and Heating Pad the second week. No more meds. It’s finally coming around. I am very satisfied of the looks and appearance. Nothing swollen, got good natural colors, and I am very pleased looking in the mirror. Nice size, shape, and girth. If it this PT is to get better, as many say in here, life will be damn good. I must say, my URO surgeon knew his craft. He had skills.

Tuesday…..Day 12
The days are getting better. Very little discomfort, if any. Mornings are great. Evenings seem to have that gravity thing going on. Fortunately, I can let everything hang loose all day. Guess that’s a good thing. Healing great. No swelling, or ugly scares. Still warm showers, twice a day, and warm soothing pad seems to be the trick. Took 1 Ibuprofen 800 in the afternoon.

Wednesday…..Day 13
I must admit, the overall 2 week healing process was not as bad as I thought. I was thinking the worst, but my body was able to absorb the PI shock. So far, very minimum swelling. No physical or visual damage. Tomorrow (Day 14) will be with the URO. I hope he doesn’t cause any damage, like poking, pulling, and tugging around. I will take a couple pain pills before checkup, just to be on the safe side and cautious. So far, this surgery adventure was rather easy. So for you guys that think it is the worst thing, it’s not. As I have said, my worst part of my surgery was the Catheter and Drain. They were invented by the Devil. Wish me well with my 2 week Post Op checkup.

Best of luck for the 2 week checkup. Taking a couple pain meds before is a very good idea. At my 2 week doc tried to deflate me, about had me on the ceiling. If doc clears you to bathe, a hot bath will feel really good.
Day by day. Before you know it all will be well and your new tool can be put to use!
