There needs to be something like Penile Implant therapy available. None at the URO. I guess I don't have the nerve to reach down and squeeze on my pump. Guess too scared too. The pump is still hard and squeezing the nut sack ain't comfortable. So far, this has been a wasted surgery. And I'm all healed. The thought of squeezing this hard azz pump just doesn't put you in the sexy mood. You loose all sexual thoughts when attempting to squeeze. Something has to change. "A man walking around with a 3 piece suit, and no where to go". The manual pump (VED) was much better than this Penile Implant. It was work to use, but at least it worked.

Have you tried getting in the sexy mood first before inflating the pump? I like to gently masturbate myself for a while first before I start inflating. It gets the tissue all loose and engorged and then pumping up makes it feel like a really nice hard erection, rather than a perfectly content flaccid penis being forced to to erection with the pump.

You’re right, there needs to be some hands on instruction on how to use this thing.

This may be a dumb question, but have you asked the surgeon or his staff to provide it?

Perhaps I’m just bull headed. I naturally assumed that when a doctor installed a prosthetic device in my pecker, the overall job was not complete until I had mastered its use.

The first few visits after they had me start cycling I would ask “how soon do I need to come back?” And they would ask me how soon did I want to come back.

I leveled with the doc and his PA about my needs. (I liked the doc, but the real hero here was his PA). I told them I wanted to come in about 3 times a week. At least twice….until I thought I had this thing mastered.

Three weeks. Two or three times a week. They’d put me in a vacant exam room. The PA (occasionally the doc) would watch me inflate/deflate a couple of times. They’d give me some constructive criticism on better ways to grip bulb, how much inflation I ought to expect at that point in my recovery, etc etc. then they’d leave me alone and tell me to inflate, leave it 5-10 mins, then deflate…..and if I had a problem just stick my head out the door.

By week 3 I knew what I was doing, I wasn’t afraid if it, and really all the medical staff was doing was admiring their handiwork. So I declared myself graduated and now only see them at 6 month intervals for TRT.

I suggest you ask your doc for similar levels of support. Worst thing can happen is he says no.

Yes, it is scary….at least a bit unsettling….early on. But with a doctor, his PA, and a basket of nurses in the same building it’s a lot easier. And after a few sessions you’re pretty confident that you can deal with it on your own.

PS: I’m a retired Army guy. I’m not scary or mean but I can slip into no-nonsense Colonel mode in an instant. I’m pretty sure my doc would have provided this follow up care on his own. But I don’t think it hurt that on my first or second follow up visit I outlined what my plan was for my recovery and how they’d be involved. There are bigger names in implants other than Bryan Kansas of Austin….Eid, Hakky, Clavell, Perito. But I don’t for an instant feel like I somehow lost out by using Kansas. On the conteary….service after the sale meant a helluva lot to me & still does.

I have looked and looked for some actual "How to Pump / Cycle this Implant videos". I don't mean cartoon like images.....but an actual "How to video". As of right now.....If there was a way to remove this Implant, I would. A total waste of time. There has to be an easier way to use this thing. I can't pump it at all. Damn pump ball too HARD. I can't even squeeze or press the pump ball. It's so hard to press, it pinches my ball sack to the point of pain. Plus the pump seems to be laying sideways (horizontal), not vertical. Am I the only one having this problem?

I have tried view several times of the Video......No Sound.......Only Video. The Pump / Cycle procedure seems to be something that is not easy to find or locate. Of all the Penile Implants Operational steps.....All were rather easy going, but the Pump / Cycle seems like it's a Top Secret Thing. Hard to find info, hard as hell to pump, hard as hell to use. There must be something magical about this Pump / Cycle. I'm on week 10 - 12 and not a damn step closer to Pump / Cycle. It makes you feel closer to ED as before surgery. You have no urge or motivation to even use this thing. For all you that said, You will love it and will enjoy it.....What drugs were you on? So far the Penile Implant has been a waste of time. Got an Implant with No Inflate or place to go.

I have looked for different pumps....So far I found three.....
1. AMS 700 Pump
2. Coloplast Pump - Titan Touch
3. Genisis Pump

Since I think this AMS 700 pump is a defective hard azz hell uncomfortable pump. At my next URO appointment, I think I will discuss, what is the possibility of exchanging this current ASM 700 pump, with another pump. I know it's another minor operation, but if I can use the pump, then the entire Penile Operation will not be a total failure. Currently, this Implant is a total waste. This AMS 700 pump is garbage, defective, hard as hell, just a waste of use, and completely not usable. And I DO NOT recommend it to anyone. So which of the other pumps do you recommend?

BigDog:

I would probably not make this offer in a million years but….

I’m in Las Vegas today. I fly back tomorrow (Saturday)

Send me an e mail I can forward a video file to. Send it as a pm on here.

I’ll cut out face etc etc. solely for educational purposes & not porn. I will send you video of how I pump & deflate if you want.

If your mechanism isn’t working the same way then yeah, you need to talk to the doc.

Correctly installed and broken in there’s not a damned thing wrong with the AMS pump. In fact the last thing I want is people cutting on me now that everything works.

Unless someone can tell me how to post a video in members only, that’s all I’ve got to offer. I know I can post a photo there but it’ll take a minute or two to get a good video.

I'm with Txagq8. My AMS pump has worked perfectly from the start. If your pump isn't working correctly then it isn't the pump design but perhaps a defect.

A point to consider. I'd be surprised if the tubing will fit all the different pump models. I bet that the tubing is different diameters & thus you're stuck with the pump that matches your implant.

For another reference. Just a day or two ago a member posted that his dr was able to add saline to his existing system. That leads me to believe that changing just the pump is not imossible. Getting a dr to just replace one piece might be the obstacle.
