Who's had the implant long term and happy???

Eight years.
Works well, even though there are signs of a revision coming closer.
It has happened a few times that I can't inflate. I squeeze the pump, but nothing happens. My bulb compresses but no fluid is transferred into the cylinders.
I don't think there is a leak, since this happened first time a year ago and I don't notice any difference in hardness now and then.
My guess is rather that the valve has some issue and sometimes it blocks the fluid from entering the cylinders, or it blocks it from transferring flued from the reservoir to the pump.
Sometimes it's enough that I just give the bulb a few powerful presses and it works again.
Sometimes I need to deflate and start over.
However, this has only happened a handful times. Don't know, but let's say 5-10 times.
First time was around a year ago, and last time a couple of months ago.
Strange, but it still works and I won't get a revision till it really breaks down.

Nowadays, I use my implant 2-3 times per week. Never cycles it. Haven't for several years.
All length I gained is still there, no cycling hasn't shrinked it.
And I gained a lot of length. From the 16-16.5 cm (6,3"-6.5") I was on Viagra before surgery, to the 18 cm (7.1") I am now.

And regarding the life as implanted - of course I like it.
My implant, except for the issue described above - which is a mechanical issue and nothing related to the actual implant sex, has worked fantastically well.
Everything becomes normal, and I don't really think about it anymore after 8 years, but it is just great to be able to have sex without worrying about my crap dick going down.
All the habits I needed to be able to have a chance to have sex.
Short foreplay, no position changes, fast and hard from the beginning...
All that shit. Now I just take my time and make sure whoever is on the receiving end will enjoy it to the fullest.
And that normally makes me do the same.
My wife rarely came from intercourse before implant. She just couldn't relax, she was worrying about my crap dick just as much as I did.
Now, she basically orgasms every time. I can even come first and keep going to make her come later if I occasionally happen to be a bit too quick and she needs a bit more time than usual.

When people talk about a revision, does that mean everything is replaced? Or if there’s just a problem with the pump, for example, can that alone be replaced with a more minor surgery? Basically I’m asking, does it have to be all components or can it be the piece of equipment that is failing for a revision?

Sometimes a failed pump can be replaced, but if the device has been installed for longer than 2-3 years then they'll just replace the whole thing

My reservoir had to be removed (during protatectomy unrelated to ED) 6 years after my implant was implanted. My surgeon promises to put a new reservoir in place after the cancer is treated, but has said nothing about replacing either the pump or the implant's cylinders.

It is possible that when the time comes, he will suggest replacing all components as you suggest. But so far, nothing said about it.

Reservoir removal was in October 2023; original implant was in November 2017. Happy times in between.

I’m at 6 1/2 years now with ams cx implant and still going good tho I’ve noticed in last 6 months I don’t get as hard as I did in the beginning but still good enough for some great sex

October 2023 was the last erection I had. See my post in the "Humor" section of FrankTalk. To make room for the operation, my surgeon had me fully inflated. He reported that there were some complimentary comments. Or, since he was the surgeon who implanted me 6 years earlier, perhaps he was just showing off.

In any event, in order to remove the prostate and suspicious tissue margins, removal of the reservoir was necessary. He believes (despite the 7 year age of my implant), the fact that it was working just fine he is inclined to leave the pump and implant cylinder in place. We will certainly discuss the options when we do the restoration. Schedule is uncertain.

as others have stated, it is rare to hang around frank talk if all is well with your implant. Basically, the general mind-set is "I have had a surgical cure for impotence, now I am normal (or even super normal) and I will devote my time and energy and efforts to other things (rather than writing and reading franktalk posts)"..
