Coloplast Genesis Malleable Implanted 13.01.2024

Postby venousleak1990born » Wed Jan 17, 2024 2:15 pm

Hi everyone. I have had venous leak from left corpora of my penis all my life.
I hated Sildenafil tablets which are not working well.
Finally i got implanted with Coloplast Genesis Malleable penile implant at the age of 34

I would be very happy if my questions answered:
1) Is Genesis durable and will propably last whole life without broken?
2) Can i still take 100 Mg Viagra before sex, in order to provide more blood to my penis?

Thanks in advance.
Implanted with Coloplast Genesis MALLEABLE on Jan 2024.
I have had venous leakage.
I didnt like the side effects of PDE5 inhibitors.
So far, I am very happy with the Coloplast Genesis.
I am from Türkiye.

I do not know the answer for your first question but since there are no valves to fail, tubing or connectors to leak and the simplest of moving parts there is nearly nothing in the malleable implant to break.

You can still take viagra, but your corpus cavernosum has essentially been replaced by the implant. The increased blood flow will have little effect on erection stiffness. However, it may increase blood flow to your spongiosum tissues (glans and shaft). This may produce a more satisfactory engorgement than without Sildenafil.

Do you know why you or your doctor chose the Coloplast instead of the Tactra or Rigicon?
I was born in 1974. I've had venous leak ED since early 30's, but managed with pde5 inhibitors until mid 40's. I have fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is worldwide acknowledged expert Dr. Laurence Levine

Thanks for the answer Lost Sheep.

I have heard that people with 3-pieces implants using viagra but havent heard anyone using it with a malleable one. That's why i asked. In order to not cause a problem for example Priapism.

I saw youtube videos where malleable implants can fractured and need to be replaced. I hope that malleable implants are actually durable.

Hi Mark,

first of all, it was my preference to get malleable, my doctor were suggesting 3-Piece implants.
And when we talk about malleable implants, he told me that Tactra and Rigicon are too stiff to bend.
He also added that he makes genesis surgeries alot and he is well practised with it.
Normally, i wanted to have Tactra cause it looks stronger. But i dont know. I am wondering if i did well by listening my doctor.

From what I have read many doctors are steering away from the Tactra. I think Boston Scientific is going to have to refine this implant, because it seems to be too dificul to conceal.

I see more and more doctors are recommending the Rigicon. I've seen this from reports here and from a journal article I recently read. Among some of the advantages it only caused one case of erosion in over 500 subjects in a three year study which seems to be unusual

I'm surprised to see that your doctor said that the Coloplast is easier to bend than the Rigicon, my understanding was the opposite

But the Coloplast is a conservative option that has been around for several decades, so maybe your doctor felt most safe with this
