Second thoughts about surgery

Postby SCOOTER12 » Thu Jan 11, 2024 4:20 pm

Hello. I really need some advice.
I have the implant surgery scheduled in 3 weeks and I am having second thoughts. Freaking out about it is more like it.
I have good days and bad days when it comes to erections. 50% of the time I can have successful sexual interactions with an erection that’s 70-80% good. That is while taking 10mg daily cialis. I don’t know why sometimes I’m better than other days but I was told I have low blood flow to the penis (ultrasound).

Those half the times I can’t get an erection have me depressed as I am only 37 and single.
With that being said, if you were me, with the risks, would you move forward with the surgery?
It sounds like there are a lot of positives about the implant and better your sex life. Also, not ever having to worry about not being able to have an erection.
The cons as I see it are only the remote risks associated with the surgery. What are your thoughts?
Do the erections feel different? Can a woman tell?

Cialis is one of the weaker pills, have you tried 100mg Viagra?

Have you tried injections.
I used Trimix for 8 years before it stopped working for me.
I know sticking a needle in your penis is scary, but if your uro dose it for you the first time, it isn't bad at all.
Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

Any surgery has risks, google breast implant issues. You will find a ton of horror stories, any surgery really. Infection is always a risk. I was in your same shoes and elected to get it done, glad i did. How long do you want to wait, your at 50/50 now, you could wait till it was more like a 75-85 failure? I would rather deal with some pain and adverse side effects than deal with my old limp dick not performing for my potential dream girl. Up to you man, its not a big deal. Wait till you feel good, or get some more consults with the high volume docs listed here. Its like a 45 min procedure, its not like your getting a heart transplant.

It really is a great question I think because of your age. If it were me, knowing what I know today with mine, I'd say that I would have done it. It takes some getting used to using it. I'm over 13 months in and It feels like its mine lol. All I know is that my wife is enjoying it and I'm in heaven(3 bad years ED at 1.5 inch turtle head post prostrate removal). Today 6L 6G and still growing. I'd do t all over again.

Daily Cialis often cancels out the Viagra you take as needed, have you tried taking only Viagra?, you should try vardenafil which I think is more selective and better than Viagra

37 is young. I was probably around your level of function around your age, maybe a bit better and I had the opposite problem (venous leak), but I know my body wasn't at the point where an implant was appropriate.

I think I reached that stage around 45. I'll be turning 50 this year and hope to get the surgery

I would wait a few more years. There will be revisions, scarring, tissue erosion and possible tunica degradation as a result, but at a certain point it is all worth it.

I would probably wait until I was at least 40
I was born in 1974. I've had venous leak ED since early 30's, but managed with pde5 inhibitors until mid 40's. I have fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is worldwide acknowledged expert Dr. Laurence Levine

I agree with Mark. I didn’t get the implant till I was 42. I’m really glad I had it done and am having amazing sex for the first time in probably ever. But there are some pluses to still having your original dick. What made my mind up when it wasn’t even a question for me anymore and I had zero confidence I could pull off a sexual encounter without failure. You’ll still be in your prime in your 40s. I’ve heard of Uro’s prescribing Trimix and cialis together. That sounds like a pretty lethal combo. It could get you by a few more years.

I’m 41, and I still have good erections with pills UNLESS I’m with a new partner and then I have nothing— total ED. I have been having the issue for 2 years. I finally made the decision to get the implant and I have my procedure scheduled for a few weeks from now. I can relate to the second guesses, but for me it boils down to this: a perfectly functioning erection except for when I actually I need it is of no use to me. I don’t aspire to jerk off alone to porn or only hook up with long time regulars and not be able to score hot new ass. So I’m doing it. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided the always on erection, anytime I want it outweighs the cons.
