Don't want to sound like a total idiot or should I wait till my Pre-Op?

Help me understand some of the numbers, I'm reading. Currently, I am at 6 3/4 - 7 inch, with no bends or twists when erect and thick (My thinks so), but it doesn't last long, thus the reason for the implant. Guess, they call it a leak. That being said, will I shrink about an inch in length? Will I loose my thickness? I guess, I keep my sensations and release. What does that CM, RTE, CM21, and all them other initials and numbers mean? The only info I have thus far from the doctor.....(3 piece suit) AMS, because of diabetic, and above the penis / abdomen cut (entry location). I only took Algebra in school, no Trig. Need a little teaching.

CM is centimeters
RTE is rear tip extenders, they can be added to a fixed length cylinder to get just the right length for the patient and location of the hoses dropping into your scrotum. Since the hoses are fixed on the cylinders, some men may need that location moved more distal for hoses to enter the scrotum properly. Someone with a deep crus, for example. (distal means further from the center of your body, proximal means closer to the center of your body)

21CM + 3cm RTE means the guy had a total of 24cm of implant installed, but only 21cm of it is inflatable. The RTEs are attached at the rear, meaning they're deep inside you and cannot be felt, they're not at the tip of your penis.

All 3 piece implants come with a selection of RTE sizes the surgeon can use at the time of measurement, which is also the time of the surgery. They have no way of knowing exactly what size you'll need until they cut into you and measure. The depth of your crus (the inside part is not measurable prior to surgery) So, they choose the inflatable implant closest to your size and add RTEs where/if needed.

FYI there are 2.54 centimeters per inch. As has been mentioned in many posts, don't try to use the length of the implant to see what your usable (bone-pressed) length will be. The result you get from a GOOD surgeon should get you what you have now, but it may take some cycling of the implant and time to achieve that. Some members have seen better results than pre-implant. Since you don't have Peyronies you are already in a good position.

A few things I have learned along the way:

A good surgeon will install your implant in such a way that after you have healed up and cycled, and the year has passed, your cock will be basically the same as it was before surgery, within a fraction of an inch. No doctor wants to under size a patient, but there are pitfalls with being oversized too.

And it is not possible to take the amount of implant they install and predict with perfect accuracy, how long you will end up. However, there is a correlation between implant size and penis size. The difference comes in because internal anatomies do vary.

I am basically your size. I have 23 cm of implant. I know guys on here who are the same size who have 21 cm of implant. There are also guys who are the same size with 25 or 26 cm of implant. Yes it’s possible to guesstimate but that is all it is, a guess.

Now, depending on the surgeon and the technique used to install you, you may be quite a bit shorter than you are now immediately after surgery. That is nothing to be frantic about. It is not uncommon for it to take six months or even a year to get back to your original size. if, after your surgery, you can gently palpate the end of the implant on the backside of the glans and it is well embedded in the head of your dick you’re most likely properly sized.

In some respects, this is all pretty funny, after the fact, because you learn some things you might never have suspected. Two weeks after my implant, my surgeon gave me the go ahead to have sex. I was almost 2 inches shorter than normal. Yes, I was sore, But it was better sex than I had enjoyed in years and if my wife noticed she never said anything. The entire area will be swollen for a while after your surgery that will make things look shorter as well as make it impossible to get a good bone pressed measurement. Then the cycling of the pump stretches out your tissues, which all recoiled from the trauma of surgery. This happens, slowly, almost imperceptibly, but before you know it a year has passed, and you are right where you were at age 25.

If you want to get down to the gnat’s ass, and I started out at six and 7/8 inches (6.875”). Four years later, in the privacy of my own bathroom, I measure 17.3 cm. That’s 6.81 inches. I cannot imagine anyone noticing or being upset about the loss of .065 inches, which is like 1/16th.

My last advice: find a good surgeon, one in whom you can place your trust and confidence. This may involve talking to several. It may involve travel, regardless, if you have a knowledgeable, experienced surgeon, doing your job, the odds of a great outcome are much enhanced

Thank all you guys.....I feel like I attended the Penile Measurements Class 101, and I didn't fall asleep. All them numbers, and all the information I have read in here....can make your Head swim. No pun intended. Of all the things I have done in life, all the military assignments, and all the world travels, I have NEVER been as nervous as I am before this upcoming surgery. So for all you NewB guys that are nervous......IT'S NATURAL TO FEEL THAT WAY. So far, the two surgeons have answered over 50 of my questions. And I have added a few more questions cinch our last meet. Again, I thank you guys for all of your info and personal experiences. The Frank Talk University is top notch.
