How much pain should there be when cycling?

Postby Youngdeadpeener » Mon Nov 13, 2023 2:43 pm

So I got implanted the titan and started cycling 2 weeks ago , I was told to inflate to the max when cycling but can’t do it as it’s too painful to hold for longer than like 2 minutes . When I started I wasn’t able to get as much pumps out but as time goes by I’m able to pump it more and hold it longer with more pumps in. For cycling I’ve been going just until I feel mild discomfort that I could handle for 30 minutes and over time I’m able to get more pumps in with the same pain level. For those who have been cycling for a while, were you able to go to the max instantly or did you build up to it because of pain levels?

It will get better. I wasn't able to pump up very long at your point and I couldn't max it out. Keep trying to pump it as tight and as long as you can stand it to streach the tissue. I can pump it to the max for about 50 minutes now before it starts burning more than I can stand and have to release the pressure. I keep trying to add pumps during that time also. I'm 8 weeks post op now. What size implant do you have?

Your signature says 2022, did you have to get a revision already?

All sounds normal. It’s normal to have discomfort and progressing to pain as you build pressure. I went to where it would hurt at about a 5 lever and hold for a while and gradually add pressure to where it was at a 8-9 pain level and then release it. Did this twice a day for about 30 minutes ea time. After about 3 months I added the perito exercises to ea routine which definitely kicks the pain level up a notch or two at first. By the 6-8 months I could max out all the pressure I could mash and keep it there for 30-45 min and started aching . Even now at a year and a half I can max it as hard as it will go and after about 45 minutes it will ache a little if I’m abusing it! Lol. But it’s definitely a hurts so good kind of pain!

Normal brother.

When I was where you are right now, a couple of guys suggested cycling in a hot tub/hot bath. This worked great for me. Cycling was still uncomfortable for a bit, but the heat helped immensely. I was able to go longer and get more pumps in during the looong acclamation stage I went through.

Discomfort might be on your daily menu for a bit friend. It took six months for me to feel decent cycling. Some men have an easier go than others and that's OK.

You know what you need to do, just keep working up to it and you'll be fine.

EDIT to answer your other question - no, I couldn't inflate to max instantly, probably no one can. Max is where you end up (at) after cycling/working/stretching your implant out. My AMX flexed/stretched out over time allowing a "new max" several times over the course of a year (if that makes sense).

I agree with portageriver. This shit takes time. Am a little over four months in and still don't look forward to cycling but it has to be done. Don't try to get to excruciating pain. I went that route in the beginning and it was very counter productive. I now just go to where its comfortably uncomfortable and hold for 1hr twice a day.

Speaking of cycles: some questions on FT are repeated with a greater frequency than a woman has her period, see: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23087

Cycling pain is normal for a while but it does get easier until you feel no pain. That said, I stated doing the Perito exercises 3 years after implanted and I feel some pain now. I believe that i am stretching again and have noticed some gains in length.

I had a lot of pain too when I started cycling, but not as bad as you’re experiencing for the time that you have it pumped up.
When I started cycling at 6 weeks I could handle about 20 pumps for 20 minutes before the pain got unbearable. I thought that I was fully pumped up to the max but after 6 months I could get 30 to 35 with stretching; by stretching I mean I’ll pump up and let it sit for a little bit and then try to pump more.
It took me 4 to 6 months before I could get past 45 minutes without unbearable pain. I was worried that I would always have pain when pumped to the max, but now at 2 years out, I can pump to the max before foreplay, so I’m ready to go and leave it pumped up for 1.5 to 2 hours without any discomfort.
We’re all different and heal different, keep on cycling, it will get better.

I feel like when a Dr tells you to max it out it simply means pump to a max level you can tolerate without too much pain. Just when you think you’ve maxed it out around 6-8 months then you realize at 10-12 that you’re putting several more pumps and it’s actually still getting longer. At about 13 months I truly MAXED IT OUT. I ran out of fluid in my resivour. The pump goes flat and won’t refill. It takes a LOT of pressure to do this and I now stop at a 95% as it’s much harder than needed for anything at that point. Anymore than that is just wearing the thing out for no reason.
