My Implant Journey

This site and the great guys on it are responsible for my decision to pursue an implant. I was hesitant to do this until speaking with others on this site who received implants.....and expressed such satisfaction with their decision. On September 27th I traveled to Vanderbilt University to meet with Dr Milam and his assistant Mr Doran. I have an extensive venous leak that makes having an erection stiff enough for penetration impossible. The Milam/Doran team made me feel very comfortable, answered all my questions, and I decided to have an implant. After an examination and measurement they agreed the Titan implant by Coloplast was best suited for my size. My surgery is scheduled for November 17th of 2010.

In consultation with Paul, I have decided to document every stage of my journey. I will do this with dialog and pictures.
First I will document my flaccid and erect length and appearance prior to surgery. I hope that this will assist others as they try to decide whether or not to pursue an implant. This site has helped me and I want to return the favor.

The first 2 pictures are flaccid and the second two are erect.

Although I can no longer get a stiff erection, with Cialis and a constriction ring, I can get a semi that deflates quickly. Below are pictures to document erect appearance and size.

I had my implant by Dr. Milam at Vanderbilt 10/23/2008.

Dr. Milam, Todd and the staff are the best I know you will have great results. Yes, for your size I understand the the Titan is your best option.

Good luck to you and keep us informed.

Well, I am one week away from my implant surgery. And I must say I am getting a little nervous. :? Dr. Milam instructed me to pump my unit daily for 4 to 6 weeks before surgery. Well, I havn't been very regular. :( 2 big vacations disrupted it. No way I would try to carry a VED pump outfit on an airplane. Looks like a terrorist device. :D LOL

I am a little uptight about potential pain. Potential risks that go along with all surgeries. And uptight about losing length and girth......stupid I know. But having a totally responsive...totally obedient penis will be worth it.....I think. :P

To prepare for the surgery I have begun walking a lot. Trying to get my circulation and cardiovascular state, optimal. And this is the week I have to stop taking anything that might thin my blood....aspirin, fish oil, ibuprofin, etc. Hope i dont accidentally slip.

Dr. Milam is a great doctor you will be pleased with the outcome. I had my surgery just over 2 years ago. The pain was minumal. I only took one pain pill and that was the night I got home.

As for the VED. Try using it a couple of times a day until the day before surgery. It could help. Just be careful and not over do it and hurt your self.

You will be like the rest of us, wish you had it years ago.

Today I head for Vandy to meet with my anesthesiologist and take care of pre-operation issues. Tomorrow, 12:30 central I go under the knife. This morning I feel cheerful and confident....expectant about having a new obedient toy to play with for Christmas. I am overwhelmed with all the support and good wishes you guys have given by phone, e-mail, and PM. Appreciate the juggling clown, the stripper, the video of dancing possums, and the collection of inflated goat udders that were sent to cheer me. They certainly did help..... I covet any prayers. Jerry
