Hi everyone,
Doing my planning for the rest of the year, in need of some advice.
How long did it take you to recover for travels which involve long intercontinental flights, a lot of walking, local transfers on not too comfortable vehicles, etc.?
Also, same question about about truly physical mountain hiking routes with overnighting in alpine mountain huts: how long did it take to recover to that level of fitness?
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Recovery time to adventure travel and physical hikes
I am 6 weeks out today and I can lift weights without issue again.
I would say give 5-6 weeks of taking it easy and another 4 weeks to build your endurance back up.... BUT! I had an easy recovery, others had pain still after 6 weeks. If your healthy without scaring then odds are my time scale might fit your recovery, always hard to know till your in it.
Good luck.

That is really going to be a tough question to answer without knowing your current health status.
If you're in good health my guess would be 6-8 weeks to recover and 4-6 more to regain strength.
If you're an old out of shape guy like me, 6 months to recover and a few years to regain strength.
Implant surgery is a tough one.

Jak O, for me it took me 5 weeks to get back on my road bike, it felt a a little awkward with some tightness in the scrotum area on my bike saddle but it wasn't too bad. It took about another month or two until I was back to my speed and endurance on the bike. My surgery was Nov 5th 2021 and I did a 100 mile endurance bike race in Aug 2022, but I did many metric centuries (62 miles) before the August long ride.
As far as a hiking, my wife and I did several hikes at Rocky Mountain National Park, Oct 2022, most of them were around 4 to 5 miles.
So, for me I would say 3 to 4 months.
