Why Did You Get Your Implant?

Hi gentlemen, I have a question for the group:

Why did you get your implant? I’d like to get a sense of the conditions, etc. that led you to implantation.

Also, when you got implanted, did you have ANY natural ability to get an erection still, or were you 100% impotent?

Thanks helping me and I’m sure lots of others gain more understanding of the reasons why guys get the implants.

I decided to get implanted because if the worst case scenario happened and I couldn't use my dick ever again I wouldn't be sad, with what I had I would rather do without than keep going the way I was.

I did have function, I could get hard 99.9 percent of the time, but as soon as we started fucking I would loose it, sooooo frustrating. I could only finish 1-3 out of 10 times and it was usually at half hard, pounding away my hardest just to get mine. I like to take my time, enjoy everything, focus on making my wife bust huge. That is a distant memory, I am 16 days post op, zero pain and can't wait to be back in there enjoying sex in a positive way.

One other note, even jerking it was tuff, I can't really get excited by porn anymore, so I would spend hours trying to find the right kink just to get a little blood flow and then have to use a death grip just to get off, even that sucked compared to 3-4 years ago. One of my favorites is my wife slowly jerking it, me messing with her in a heavy kissing session before jumping in, well... by the time we were finished with warm up, I would be going soft even though my sexual interest was at 100. So to repeat, If this was the way sex was going to be from here on out I would rather go without, hence, get an implant or get divorced because why put up with a wife, cost, money, peace and all the rest of a burden having a wife without enjoying the one thing I got married for, sex. I know most of my friends love the companionship but for me, I have lots of friends and really enjoy being alone.

Severe Peyronies for me, which made intercourse near impossible which, due to the extra anxiety also led to chronic PE.

I had decent erectile function; but the harder I got the worse the curvature was so it was a lose lose situation.

Implanted 15 months ago and I couldn’t be happier. I still get good blood flow, not enough to penetrate without pumping but enough so that I don’t have to pump to masturbate.

I could still get hard naturally but was getting harder and harder. Maintaining an erection was challenging. Started pills. Moved to Bimix/trimix. I could be hard anywhere from 5 minutes to 6 hours with the injection but it wasn't reliable.

I tried Gainswave and PRP. No difference went to 2 urologists and was diagnosed with severe veinous leak.

Visiting a urologist is what you need. Be sure it is a physical issue and not emotional or caused by something else.

That should be your next step.

My ED started right after my prostate was removed. The Dr tells you it will come back; we saved the nerves...Anyway, pills did not work, but injections worked but it was trimix and it hurt like hell. Sex even jerking off was out of the question. Years went by, found FT learned about bimix, my Dr refused to prescribe it, said it was for old men....I dumped him and found another uro who would prescribe the bimix. Still did not like giving myself injections and ultimately had a total mental block to giving myself the injections even though the bimix was great. Found a Uro who deals with the whole male issue of sex, uro health and mental health all in one office. Tried auto injection, that was a big help. Time however wasn't my friend (ten years since it all started); the prescriptions became stronger, and I used a full syringe. I was hardish but now a cock ring was added. I decided I wanted spontaneity; I did not want to inject anymore; and after a show and tell and reading guys journals I was comfortable with the idea of an implant. Eid is local for me, and I was concerned he might retire so I met him and kind of let things progress (well until Covid stopped things for a while) from one appointment to the next. Today I am one year and five months out and so happy I did it! Everything turned around and I am not looking back. If I need a revision someday, who cares I did it once, I'll do it again. Yes, I now sport a nice package and get looks in the locker room shower what a problem for a fit 63-year-old guy to have lol.

Mid 50's and started to lose my erections during sex. Then I couldn't get going for sex. Started Viagra, couldn't believe what that stuff did for me. Couple years on the pills has less effect, took a higher dose to get an erection. Then the side effects, migraines the next day kicked in. Pills got less and less response, like ED starting up again. Then heard of a doc who did injections and started Trimix. Great effect at first, couple of years and I had to up the dose, then get a stronger mix, then move to Quadmix. Maybe six months and it was sometimes an injection would work, sometimes not. It was like ED starting again, dammit. I was way depressed because I didn't know of any other method. I honestly believed my sex life was over and I wasn't ready to give up that part of my life.
Then on vacation in Vegas I saw an ad in the paper of a doctor that did penile implants. That got me searching for information on what that was. Found a doc back home and set the date.
The week before surgery I woke up in the middle of the night with a huge erection. Of course, before I could even think about grabbing it shrinkage was already happening.
It's been 3 1/2 years now since my implant. I love it, so does the wife. Pills and injections were always a mood killer. Scheduled sex, honey do I take a pill tonight? Once she was fast asleep 45 minutes later when I was ready. Or we'd get worked up then, oops, got to jump up and go inject.

I damaged my pudendal nerve.

No, I couldn't get hard naturally.

Basically... I was depressed and started to spiral. This is not the baseline of my personality. I've always been happy in life but the ( black ) hole of not being able to have sex with my wife was sucking the joy of life out of me . I decided I have to start being proactive in solving the source of my depression ( ED ) or self destruct . I chose the latter . Got an appointed with Dr. Clavell, flew to Houston 2 months later and got my implant. It's really surreal to me that I sit here today a happy ( implanted ) man looking forward to rekindling my love life with the wife . The healing can't come fast enough. Never looking back
