Lifetime warranty or not?

Postby Rov999 » Mon Apr 24, 2023 9:14 am

clavell told me that the titan implant has a lifetime warranty but that it's only for once..if the second implant fails you will have to pay another 23,000 dollars..Djinovic told me the warranty is only 10 years..but if the implant fails after 9 years the new implant inserted will have another 10 years of guarantee and this forever .. each implant will have its 10 year guarantee .. what is the truth .. why doctors take advantage of these things

Hmmmm?
I love to see that in writing from Colopast. I suspect that there isn't a warranty.

Prove me wrong,

When my Titan failed after 12 years I didn't inquire about warranty. By then I had already had all the surgery I cared to, including two open heart procedures, and didn't care whether the imp!ant worked or not.

Is there a warranty, very good question. I'm going to say that it all depends on multiple factors. Its my understanding that medicare & lots of insurance companies don't care. But, IF there is some kind of reimbursement in those cases. The patient would never know. I worked with a man that got 5 knee replacements in one leg. We talked about it a couple of times. He never mentioned having trouble with his insurance. My sister in law got a second pace maker but that was on medicare.
The bigger issue is for the self pay folks. I'm just guessing on this. Since the number of self pay implants is likely fairly low. The implant companies might just write off what few they cover per year. Kind of a good public relations type of thing. But remember, its highly probable that a self pay would be responsible for the surgeon & hospital charges in my opinion. Those costs are a considerable amount of money.

I don't have insurance that covers an implant..I would have to pay for it myself..let's say the first implant fails in the first year..I pay $5,000 for the clinic and they replace it under warranty..I'm a very unfortunate person the second system fails after 2/3 years...I would find myself paying 48,000 dollars in 4 years...and where do I get all this money...it's madness

I'm sure that if you have that case they pay you just to keep it in secret :)

Please explain why they'd try to keep it a secret. Many men don't want to publicize that they have an implant. Plus generally people understand that medical things can break or wear out.
Show me a person that hasn't broken a tooth, had a dental filling fall out or broke their glasses. Things fail, the public understand that.
