What happens when you apply a vacuum to an implanted penis?

Postby RPSurvivor » Tue Mar 28, 2023 9:24 am

Are you advised not to do this?
What happens before erect?
What happens after erect?
What changed when you tried it?

Thank you

Didn't ask anyone for "advice" on whether to use a VED postOP or not. I've read studies that used it to attempt to remedy post ED atrophy in men's dicks and made my own decision to try it.

Nothing. I only used the VED when erect.

It gets a little bigger but I only use it 1x/day for 10 mins @ 5hg which is a limited & conservative approach.

This morning my dick was 6" L x 6" G preVED and 6 1/4" L x 6 1/8" G postVED. However, any postVED gain in size is usually temporary and, apart from 1 exception, my dick returns to its preVED size after an hour or so.

The exception was that, almost immediately after I started using the VED post OP, my dick length grew 1/4" from 5 3/4" to 6" and that change seems to be permanent because this measurement has remained constant ever since.

My girth immediately increased from 5.75" to 6" postOP w/the implanation of a 20cm Titan Touch but has not increased permanently beyond that w/postOP VED use.

FWIW, if I don't see any other permanent changes shortly, I am already thinking about NOT using the VED anymore because:

1) I think that I"m already "big enough" at 6"L x 6"G,
2) my IPP was not "oversized" and the possibility of additional growth is minimal, and
3) the possible risk of damaging the implant if I do it any longer.

Your 6x6 is plenty. In percentiles that's 78 and 99.

Did you invest any energy in getting bigger before your implant size was determined? I can attest to how much can be lost during and after RP.

And ad for Boston Scientific to the left of this screen says "Regain or Maintain". I have worked with some RP patients who did regain much of what they lost. None that I know have chosen the implant path yet.

I agree.

Not really.

I only became impotent enough (to make me decide to do something about it) about 6 months before my IPP surgery, which wasn't long enough to cause any penile atrophy.

Not sure if I told you but I mentioned elsewhere that I'm a prostate cancer (PCa) survivor like you are but unlike you I did not have a radical prostetectomy (RP).

After I did my PCa research, I was terrified of the idea of RP, mainly because of the risk of ED and incontinence and I chose to be treated instead w/CyberKnife (CK), a very precise form of external beam radiation treatment which was relatively new at the time, which killed all of my prostate cells (including the cancer) witout affecting anything else.

I'm aware that some men who had a radical prostatectomy (RP) to remove their prostate have been able to use a VED to regain some of their length but it really doesn't solve the ED problem and I'm surprised that none of the men you know haven't gotten an IPP to fix it.

I recently re-visited the PCa Survivors Network where I was very active for 6 years pre & post CK treatment.

I posted a 12 year update of my status as a PCa survivor there recently. I mentioned the option of getting an IPP implant to those who are suffering from ED as a result of an RP and directed them to contact me here if they had any questions but no one from there has contacted me here yet.

Someone there mentioned that getting in IPP for ED is seldom mentioned/discussed there, which is sad. :(

If you have a high volume surgeon talk to your doctor I'm sure he has a recommendation.

I have been very casually using mine maybe two or three minutes at 5 right at the end of my cycling session.

It actually seems to relieve the post cycling tenderness but I would normally have. Your mileage may vary but again talk to your doctor That's what he's there for.
