It does feel like a hard marble now, but I've not attempted to do anything with it until directed to by Dr. Clavell, so I'm not sure how hard it will be to pump--------Jage - mine felt like a hard marble the first week I cycled too, very difficult to squeeze fully. When I met with the AMS Rep he said that was normal, but to keep in mind you don't have to fully squeeze to move the fluid, it will take more pumps but it will get you there. The good news was after only another week, the pump had loosened up a lot and fully squeezes are now very easy.

thanks Wyatt99, I've been nervously working the example pump they gave me and it's loosened up considerably over time. I have no idea if it's the same material as what's inside me, but from all reports (including yours) it will get much easier pretty quickly.

I've read that many of the Titan guys talk about 50 or more pumps, and many AMS guys talk about far fewer pumps to fill the cylinders, is that your experience? I can't imagine working through 50 pumps to get an erection. It didn't seem as if the pump bulb was that much smaller for Titans (on video) over the AMS, so I don't know what would explain the difference.

IMHO,
My Titan does take 50+ pumps to full erect. Saying that, if I slow down and concentrate on compressing the bulb completely, maybe 35 to 40.
As for the additional pumps, the Titan gives greater girth than the AMS, thus more fluid is needed to fill the cylinders.
And last, it took a good 6 months for the pump to soften. Regular daily cycling is essential. Start working on your thumb and finger muscles by squeezing a tennis ball between your thumb and forefinger..

Zenmasterdj wrote:So, I am a few weeks out and, of course, questions keep popping into my head.

The recent one that is kinda stuck there is about the ball/pump that I will squeeze.

Is it uncomfortable? I mean, it is right between your legs so I imagine it takes some time to get used to.

Can you feel it all the time? Is is strange to sit? Is it noticable?

I keep looking for videos or photos and allI can find is cock photos, which does not seem to help me understand this part.

Sorry if this has been answered before. I did a search and was unable to find this one.

Thanks guys! 8-)

I have the AMS 700 LGX with the AMS pump

It was uncomfortable at the beginning when my scrotum was swollen from the surgery.

They give you a AMS pump replica training device that you can squeeze and get use to before you have surgery, at least they gave me one. When I first squeezed it, which this is outside of a scrotum, it hurt the pads of my fingers to pump the thing. I was thinking, how in the world am I going to pump this thing when it gets inside my scrotum.

At first you can definitely tell that it is there, between the boys. Mine sits in the front of my two boys and is easy to access. I'm married, so I don't need to hide it behind the boys, plus I think that would make it difficult to pump, if it was back there.

I believe that it was around the 4 to 6 month time frame when everything worked good and there was no more pain, everyone heals different and has different pain receptors, but this was my experience.

The pump is not at all uncomfortable and I hardly ever notice it, except when I have to grab it to inflate or I have to rearrange the boys from time to time.

I never have any testicle pain from the pump being down there boys.

I'm a Road Bike cyclist, so I had a lot of concerns about it being down there and rubbing between the two boys. When I I first got back on my bike I still had tenderness and numbness from the incision and I guess my scrotum might have been slightly swollen, it was a awkward uncomfortable feeling, but I kept getting on my bike and taking short rides and it all worked out, this was at the end of 2021.

For 2022, I did 5,832 miles on my Road bike and I never feel the big third ball.

I have the AMS 700. Doc had me start cycling at two weeks, which is now three weeks ago. He did tell me to pull it down and towards the front when I was taking a leak or shower. Today, for the first time, I noticed how much the bulb had softened up, which made it much easier to inflate.

Jage64 - keep in mind when you are practicing with the "model" of the pump, you are not actually moving any fluid through the bulb into the cylinders... so It may seem more difficult with the real thing at first. It takes me between 20 -30 pumps to get fully erect... I'm not cleared for sex yet, but those 30 pumps seem more than adequate to get me rock hard. I've been instructed to cycle as follows..... first pump up to fully erect and leave it that way for 20 minutes... then add as many more pumps as possible and wait another 20 minutes at which time add even more pumps, leave it inflated for 20 more minutes then deflate. My surgeon sets up a consult with an AMS (Boston Scientific) rep who provided this guidance. Seems folks get different guidance from different surgeons, so I'd recommend follow your own surgeons advice and not mine.

What is interesting is the first 30 seems more than sufficient for sex. The second set of pumps, I can usually only add maybe 10 more, but on that 3rd set I've added as many as 30 to 40 more. My understanding is this protocol is designed to stretch the tissues to eventually compensate for any loss of length and girth. That final set of pumps is not painful, but uncomfortable.

Keep this in mind too... don't get too frustrated when you first start cycling, it's going to take at least a few days or maybe weeks to find what works best for you as far as steadying the pump and actually inflating. I ended up using a two handed technique vs using just one hand to pump. I'm not supposed to have sex for another 2 weeks and my goal has been to get adept enough at inflating so I'm ready to go on March 29th... I feel like I'm already there, it's gonna be a long 2 weeks, I'm horny as hell, lol.

Wyatt99, you have good directions and they are right in the ballpark for most all surgeons out there. I did the same thing with Boston Scientific, I got in touch with their patient coordinator and they would give me patient champions that I could talk to.

I couldn't do the two handed method using both thumbs.

Here is what I use, you might want to try it. I reach down and grasp the pump with my right hand and move it around until I can get a good grasp on it. Then while holding it with my right hand, I'll take my left hand with thumb and index finger at the top of the valve block and pull it down so I can hold it in place.
Then I'll take my right index finger sort of curled up and the lower portion of my thumb or close to the palm and squeeze the pump that way. This allows you to use the muscles in your forearm which gives more strength when pumping the bulb and your fingers don't get tired.

Give it a try!

Wyatt99, see if you can add your signature to your replies so that we can know more about you. You'll see mine at the bottom of this reply.
