Which implant to choose? AMS or Coloplast

I am scheduled to get an AMS 700 on April 6, 2023. Dr. Blick in Phoenix seems to be in bed with Boston Scientific and never mentioned any other brand. Sorry I did not find this website sooner. Anyone have any experience with him? He did examine the size and shape of my penis. I am 81 and 3 yrs post radiation and androgen denial.

Welcome to the site. If you have a VED I you should start VED therapy right away. Follow these guidelines. https://augustams.com/how-to-use-a-peni ... -exercise/ Do that for a week and stop a few days before surgery. This may help a bit in restoring some of your lost size. But be careful and keep vacuum low and apply it very slowly. You don't want to chance over doing it and causing damage this close to surgery. Did your doctor say if your implant will be the LGX or the CX?

Blick is a good doctor from the reports I have read. You can put his name in the search function in the upper right of this page. He is also listed in the physician finder in the top of this page.

Besides, that "study" as you refer to it was NOT actually a peer reviewed medical or scientific study. It was a just paper based on questionaires sent to IPP doctors. Again, pure bullsh*t!

And, if you want to go deeper, you're "quoting" a SINGLE paper based on questionaires (not actual measurements of men's dicks) sent to IPP docs which were NOT verified to prove that their questionarire responses were accurate and/or verifiable.

So, I still call it BULLSH*T!!!

If you want to PROVE that penoscrotal surgery alone will contribute to LONGER dicks, then sponsor a medical study using the SAME brand/model of implant (AMS or Titan) performed by doctors (both penoscrotal & infrapublic) trained to performing the surgery in the way (whether penoscrotol or infrapubic) with a statistically large enough sample of men with ED based on comparable circumstances and with comparable physicial, racial & genetic characteristics, who are measured precisely both pre and post op by an accepted method and THEN I'd consider the results scientificially and medically relevant but that has NOT been done yet.

So, any talk about penoscrotal surgery alone being more likely to contribute to LONGER dicks is still pure BULLSH*T!!!

Yes we are quoting the results of the study.
And yes it is a study, it's called a "prospective study" just because you don't like it doesn't make it any less of a study.

Do you seriously think doctors lied? They literally log the penis measurements and the size of the implant used.
It's a simple study. They measured the penis and then checked what cylinder size were used. And they found that for the same penile size longer cylinders were used with scrotal incisions.

1. the model doesn't matter because it's about initial cylinder size
2. they did compare ED circumstances
3. racial and genetics do not matter, it's about measured size (in the operating room)
4. they are looking at men that measured exactly the same

So yes, go pubic go short.

I’m getting a revision, I have a 22cm Titan and my doctor said he’d probably use an AMS. I like girth of the Titan so I’m worried I might lose some if I switch. Also, does anyone know if the pump on the AMS has been improved? I heard a lot of complaints about it’s large size and boxy shape and hard corner edges. Thanks
