Anyone gotten laser hair removal after implant?

Postby wolfpacker » Fri Feb 10, 2023 12:05 pm

Thinking about getting laser hair removal on my shaft and balls, don't want it to harm the implant obviously though. Has anyone had laser hair removal done on their implanted goods? How'd it go?

I lasered all of the hair off most of my body including my lower pubes, inner thighs and part of my shaft long BEFORE I received my implant.

It shouldn't affect the implant if you do it afterward but -- WORD OF WARNING -- laser hair removal is NOT painless and I balked at attempting to remove any of the hair on my scrotum and perineum because of that.

Also laser hair removal does NOT work well on dark skin or on blond/light hair. It works best on dark hair and light skin. My hair is black but the skin on my scrotum & perineum is very dark, which is also why I didn't bother trying to laser the hair there. I just shave there, as needed, instead.

If you want to save some $, I'd recommend buying a home laser hair removal device called Tria.

I had most of the larger parts of my body -- arms, legs, underarms, chest -- removed professionally but I removed all of my pubic/genitals and spots that were not removed professionally with the Tria device myself at home.

I have a different perspective than the last message. I have had laser hair removal all over, including the penis and scrotum. I started this before the implant procedure and now I am doing a maintenance series of treatments about a year and a half after getting the implant. I researched the question of harm to the implant and found it was no problem. I had my last previous laser treatments about two and a half years ago. The lasers have progressed over time, and they can remove hair follicles from most types of skin, just with varying results. It is that way with various areas. Some areas just have more hair and also more resilient hair, like the pubic area. I did not think having it done in the pubic area was all that painful, compared with the neck, sternum and the lower cheeks of the butt. I suspect different people have different areas that are more painful. If you have any white hair coming in, the laser does not pick that up so it is nice to get it done before that happens. Also, even when hair starts to regenerate after a year or two, it is very fine and can be shaved off without ingrown hairs. Really, may hair is not all that thick that I need to do the maintenance now but I want to keep on top of it.

I recommend laser hair removal over waxing. Waxing is so temporary that it makes the laser hair removal more cost effective. Both have about the same level of discomfort, but I just got tired of going in for a wax and having to let my hair grow out a bit before removing it.

As a swimmer, it is great to have no hair and no ingrown hairs. My skin is very smooth and the water feels great as I swim. If you work out at a gym you probably see that many guys do this. At my gym, all of the regular swimmers and weight lifters remove all or most of their body hair. (After I had the implant procedure, my aesthetician immediately noticed the difference in the size and feel of the penis.)
