6 weeks post op and still too sore to cycle

Postby Livingstonguy » Wed Feb 01, 2023 7:13 pm

I saw the Dr yesterday and he said not to worry about it. He says the tenderness is from the antibiotics that was coated on the implant. My wife is wishing it would hurry up and feel better (as am I) so I can start cycling. Did anyone else take this long before they started cycling?

My doctor ordered me to wait 6 weeks and I did.

He claims cycling earlier causes more issues than it’s worth. I can’t believe the guys here pumping up after a few days. My scrotum was way too sore to cycle that early. I have a feeling the doctors that recommend doing it that early get a lot of calls complaining about the pain.

When I pumped up at the doctors office after 6 weeks it hurt like hell and I wasn’t real happy. It was my penis that hurt.

Hang in there, it will get better.

My doctor had me on a 6 week no sex but had me cycling at 3.

It hurt a lot at first could barely stand pumping up and deflate right away now I can stay hard for as long as we want

Hi Livingston,

I don't think you have anything to worry about, I was cleared to cycle at four weeks, but my scrotum was so inflamed I could only do it a few times. I decided to wait another week and it was so much better, at the four weeks my scrotum literally felt like it was on fire. My advice is to let your scrotum cool down before you continue to cycle. You won't lose anything by waiting another week or two. I got my original size back in no time and everything was functioning great. You don't get any extra credit for tolerating pain. You will be healed in no time and will be telling other brothers not to worry about it, everything is going to be fine. Just remember every patient and every surgery is different because we are all unique human beings, no two alike.

I'm having the same difficulties, after 7 days the doctor deflated me and while he was inflating me to show me he showed me the stars for the pain, I had to stop him, for him I could start riding a bike right away, but since when it deflated me I'm all very sore, now the scrotum is almost completely deflated and the bruises on the rod are visibly going away, but the pain on the rod is very strong, I'll stay still for another few days before riding my bike, I don't feel like it Right now, if I started I'm sure it would make things worse

guys, apart from the inflamed/swollen scrotum, doesn't the shaft hurt terribly strong?

Like was said it depends on the person and what was done. If there was extra work done inside the corpora then there would be more pain and longer recovery. The doctor does make a difference also. Not all doctors are at the same skill level. And this is not the first time I have read that a man has had a painful reaction to the device coating. Not something that happens very often. Can't remember a lot about the other times that came up but maybe someone had a medication they were taking. But that could have been something else altogether and just my poor memory. But no harm in checking just in case. If it is the coating on the AMS device that is causing the pain the good news is that the Titan has a coating that permits the doctor to choose an antibiotic solution. So you might make a note of it and if you need a revision opt for the Titan and a different antibiotic solution.

As far as early activation if you go to the general section of this site in the documents worth reading thread pinned to the top you will find a publication about the "coffin effect". This study shows a relation of size loss to longer activation time. Again doctors are different and some have the skill and surgical procedure to permit early activation and others do not. And even the doctors that do early activation will have men who take longer mostly because of the extra work that was needed.

thanks newbie443, I didn't have extra work, the pain I feel is as if they had put a bigger device on me, I also feel the tips very close to the end of the glans, I reported it to the doctor and he said they are at the point right

Hello Livingstonguy

Stan McGinnis here, I live in the San Antonio, Texas area.
I had my implant done 5 Nov 2021.
Like a lot of the guys said on the replies to your FrankTalk post, everyone is different and heals different.
It took a long time for me too.
At 6 weeks, I still had tenderness in my scrotum, numbness where the stitches were, the pump bulb hurt when you tried to pull it down and squeeze it.
- My wife and I did try to have sex at 6 weeks but it didn’t feel good.
- It was still sore
- I couldn’t pump it to a level that was rock hard
- Having penetrative sex wasn’t enjoyable that first time.
- I was really discouraged
- It hurt pretty bad for a couple days after trying to have sex and I took pain meds
- I called my urologist doc and told him about it and he told me to take it slow.
- I kept doing daily inflations for 20 to 30 minutes. My shaft would start hurting after 30 minutes at max inflation.
- I also did warm sits baths, pump up to medium inflation, hold my penis at the base and bend up, down and side to side.
- While still in the warm bath tub, I would pump it up to the max that I could which was around 30 to 35 pumps and see if I could stand the pain after 1 hour.
- I kept doing this just about every day and the pain kept getting less and less
- I believe my wife and I had pleasurable sex around week 8, but it continues to get better. - I would say for me, around 4 months to 6 months, everything started feeling normal.
- I can now pump it up 60 to 70 pumps, and I can go to 80 with half pumps. This is rock, rock hard.
I tried send you a reply to your email, but it won’t send to the address that you provided.
