Healing up but concerned

Postby TuffDadSF » Mon Jan 30, 2023 5:50 pm

Hey guys,

I am about 2 weeks post-implant and think everything is going fine. My scrotum had been pretty full of liquid afterwards so for the past few days I have been doing sitz baths with epsom salt to help reduce the swelling. Seems like its working and is feels good for the pain.

After doing one today I reached down to tug on the bulb and it felt like it was surrounded with some sort of fluid/gel that really startled me. I fumbled around with it and it seems to have gotten loose from the capsule or whatever it was.

I am going to give the doctor a call tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else had something like this or is this just the normal healing process and eventually my scrotum will go back to normal - loose, thin, with no extra fluid (but now with 3 balls) ?

Your doc will know best. Let us know what he says.

Just out of curiosity, did you get a penoscrotal or infrapubic implant?

Recovery time & experience varies w/each.

I got infrapubic (a cut above the base of the penis)

Yea, I would call your Dr.
I also had infrapubic and didn't have any swelling in my scrotum.
Started with Viagra at age 40. Worked good for about 12 years.
Tried Trimix injections, worked great for about 8 years
Now Trimix no longer works.
I got implant on Oct 26th 2022.

My scrotum was sore and swollen for weeks. A hot bath most every morning for 2-3 months before it was feeling more back to normal.

Infrapubic 7 days post-op here.

Everything was very swollen immediately after implant. Swelling in sack decreased noticeably in 2 days but it's still swollen & not back to what I'd consider "normal". Taking 30 min baths 2x/day. Don't feel a lot of fluid floating in my sack but still find it difficult to grasp the pump wc is slippery to the touch. It's a 2 hand operation.

My dick is inflated to about 86% based on my measurements but, despite that, it still looks swollen too.

Still have a"donut" where my circ scar is wc I previously only got after using an oversized VED tube. That donut would go away after my dick reduced to normal size in a few hrs. The donut I've got now reduced a bit at the same time as my scrotum did but it's still there 7 days post-op.

Scheduled to see my doc in 2 days. Doubt that all the swelling will be gone by then. Hope that I can still be cleared to begin cycling as planned at that meeting.

BTW, OP, did your doc install a drain?

Mine did and the nurses had to dump a lot of bloody fluid that drained out overnight while I was still in the hospital.

The drain was removed with the catheter the following morning but I'm sure some fluids were still being released which probably accounts for the swelling that's still there. Those fluids should be absorbed as the swelling diminishes.

Or at least that's what I "hope" (and understand) will (should) happen.

Just got off the phone with the doctor.

He said that it's just residual swelling and possibly fluids leftover from the operation. He said it could take up to 4 weeks or so for it to finally dissipate and be reabsorbed into my body.

Thanks to everybody who piped in about this. It seems you are all correct!

Glad your doctor informed you things were good.
Sent home with my catheter and drain bag, had to remove them myself the next morning. I couldn't wait to get them off/out of me. However, I believe if I left the drain bag in longer my swelling would have been way less.

Good to hear but would still like to know if you had a drain inserted or not post-op.
