I think the general consensus is if shots are working well and you’re not getting scar tissue than most would still be using shots. After just 12 months of injections I had doubled, doubled and then doubled again on the dosage and to top it off started developing a little scaring, so now I’m implanted. Yes it was a great move! Maybe wish I had skipped shots but now I know how they did work and prolonged the implant as long as possible. I love my implant but it took 4-5 months to get to the totally comfortable erection point. After the 6 month time it’s been oh so much better than injections.

Interesting. I do have scar tissue but is from edging or essentially masterbating for hours which gave me an HG deformity when semi erect. Can’t see it when fully erect but is difficult to get those areas firm on anything except Trimix. 50-50 on cialis if I am really aroused.

Hindsight being 20/20 certainly applies here for me -- i.e. had I known that shots would run their course and give me scarring to boot, then, sure -- I would have skipped them and gone to an implant which I now have and love. BUT lots of guys have success with shots for many years without issue -- I could have been one of them, how could I have known...
You say you already have some scarring -- will shots make it worse? maybe, maybe not.

So all you can do is look into your crystal ball and try to decide which is best -- all the best to you!

Yeah Scarring from my idiotic masterbation habits. I am aware of the potential of scarring with injections though. Appointments set with URO I guess I will use injections until then.

As most have said. Knowing what I know now. I would have skipped the shys and went straight for the implant. The scarring which led to Peyronie and loss of length for me is the reason. I would have avoided it also now that I’m implanted I personally find it works well for me and more convenient than the shots.

I did get fibrosis aka scarring. I could have squeezed another couple years out of it if I would have wanted to since the scarring wasn't severe.

In my case when I used enough trimix to get hard it would last over 4 hours almost every time. If I did less it wouldn't stay hard enough long enough. I had to inject phenylephrine to get rid of my hardon almost every time. That doubled the amount of needle sticks I did. That probably added to the fibrosis. Not every guy will have to do that

Phenylephrine injections can cause a heart attack and I was doing them 2 or 3 times a week. I am 66 years old and I figured I'd rolled the dice more than enough times. I had some scarring and the risk of phenylephrine and I was tired of sticking needles in my dick. So I got an implant.
PLUS my Medicare advantage plan paid for all but $200 of it.

I got the implant 13 weeks ago and I cycle it daily. The doctor said the procedure went perfectly with no unexpected issues. It seems to work very well.

I haven't been able to use it with my partner yet. Her young adult daughter recently died of a fentanyl overdose and that event basically ruined my partners life. Our sex life used to be off the charts outstanding, and now its just a memory. Sometimes life isn't fair.

Got started on injections not long after Viagra began to lose its effect on me. If I would have known better then (like I do now) it would have been a trip to the Urologist first. Started injections with some fly by night doc set up who sold Trimix for a substantial profit. Never had any problems using it, until it didn't work anymore. Switched to Quadmix near the end of injections. That didn't work very long, maybe 6 months before my dose got so high to get any effect. Then it was ache all the next day.

I'm skipping injections entirely. Never had had one, don't care to try. Pills worked well for awhile, now they don't work reliably and the headaches and indigestion the next day isn't worth it. I don't like weighing a night of poor performing sex with my wife with whether or not it's worth the headache all day tomorrow.

So, I'm going from pills to an implant in 3 weeks.

I went directly from pills to implant. I'm now about 7 months out from the operation and am very happy with my decision. I love being able to have spontaneous sex. No pills to plan ahead. No congestion or headache. No injections. (Not that I ever did them, but they sounded like a mood killer. And tricky on trips.) I mean, the amount of planning is, like, it takes 20 seconds to inflate. And it works for sure. Even with pills, my erection sometimes felt a bit "precarious", like it might just disappear if I took a break, tried a new position that I wasn't sure about, or put on a condom.

It is so fun just experimenting/playing when I know it's not going down no mater what.

Wheee!
