SSRI’s

Postby FMLFML85 » Sat Dec 31, 2022 12:04 am

Have any of you gotten on SSRI’s or anti depression meds post IPP implant? ED seems to be a common side effect of medication but now that we’re implanted I suppose that isn’t an issue anymore. Does anyone here have a story their willing to share on this?

Some SSRI and SNRI made it hard to get erection or hard to orgasm (or both). But they did help w mood.

So yes, now I'm back trying to find the Med that may have caused impotence (irrelevant now;) BUT did not effect orgasm....

Yeah I have heard about it also causing problems with ejaculation. Some people on different forums said that SSRI’s gave them increased labido. It sucks that it takes a couple months to even start working.

I’ve never taken an SSRI but take Wellbutrin an NDRI. It was prescribed by my urologist to help with orgasm threshold (it takes me a LONG time to cum and was hoping this would help get me there quicker). Although it didn’t seem to change anything about my orgasms it did give me a little extra spring in my step. Although I didn’t think of myself as depressed it lifted my mood a bit so I decided to continue on it.

If you find SSRIs are giving you sexual side effects you don’t like, talk with your doc and find out if there is an alternative that might work for you. Wellbutrin has been found to have fewer sexual side effects than most SSRIs for example.
