Increased pain three weeks out.

Postby 68CatFan » Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:14 pm

I have a couple questions for the gentlemen who didn't breeze through their post-implant recovery. Did you have any pain issues several weeks post-implant surgery, what was it and how was it resolved?
For me, the first three weeks after surgery went very well. The incision healed very nicely, there was very little pain, and my scrotum is now back to its normal size. I have, however, always felt a slight ache right where the tubing exits my scrotum and heads up toward the reservoir. Unfortunately, on Christmas it started getting worse and now it's made the groin area sore. There's no pain or swelling in the scrotum itself. Everywhere else feels great. There's this constant achy/burny feeling right there where I can feel the tubing leaving my scrotum.
On the 26th I text my surgeon and let him know about it. He put me back on antibiotics just to be safe but didn't elaborate any further. I'd like to think this is just a hiccup but increased pain in one area after three weeks tells me something is wrong. I feel pretty confident it's not an infection because I went to incredible lengths to help my incision heal properly and though nobody is perfect, Dr Clavell did my surgery.
I've read a few posts here and there about guys who've had tubing issues. Did your body finally adjust, or did you have to have corrective surgery?
Thanks -Cat

Hi 68CatFan,

We have the same surgeon, and you are a few weeks ahead of me.
I will be two weeks post-op tomorrow. The recovery has been going well, with minor pain in the scrotum and around the reservoir. I am hoping it doesn't get worse.
Thanks,

North

Although I did breeze thru recovery I did occasional bend wrong or not think and pick up my 25-30 pound grandkid and would be sore for days afterward also even having sex would make it very sore for days at a time. Stay on top of it with the Dr and hope for the best. You had a great surgeon!

My recovery was tough. After doc tried to deflate me on day 14 my shaft felt like it had been beaten up. It took a couple more weeks to feel better. Minor soreness in my abdomen until then.
If it gets to the point you can't tolerate the pain, call your surgeon asap.
