Dr. Clavelle performed mine 4 days ago. By now he has probably sent you that link to the pre-operative videos he wants you to watch. In one of the first videos, he says “look, I know you’re nervous, you’re wondering if you’re doing the right thing. My best advice for you today is to relax“. Easier said than done, right? I did my best to maintain a relaxed frame of mind facing the surgery, but still there is that voice in the back of your head as the day approaches.
All I can say at this moment is that, as of now, I am delighted with how everything has gone so far. The surgical experience was very efficient, professional, With a warm and caring staff. I recovered for a couple of days in my hotel, then flew home yesterday. As I mentioned in an earlier post as of last night at bedtime, I had only had three Tylenol. That’s how little my pain was. Like Jets fan has posted already, there is what feels like a dull ache, deep inside, but that, we can both assure you, is nothing that we would consider a “pain“.
Another thing that I am pleased about is that I can already tell my post operative length is at least the same as it was pre-operative. Dr. Clavel will pump you up to “60%“. I found myself looking sidelong in the mirror thinking “if this is 60%, this is what I remember my 100% looking like!“. Since apparently, there’s some more stretching to do in there, I am very very optimistic.
One thing that facilitated this, though Was that I probably did not wait too long to get the surgery done. Several months ago I had a consultation with Dr. PERITO in Miami. Although I did not choose him as my surgeon, one thing, he said to me, really struck home:
“ The thing that causes your penis to shrink is not the surgery, what causes your penis to shrink is ED itself“. On his videos, he mentions how on the day of your last direction, officially commences the day. Your penis begins to shrink, so no time should be wasted.
Fortunately, I was still able to get erections all the way to the end. Trimix would give me an erection, but only for about 30 minutes, which rendered it unsatisfying, but at least I was getting the blood flow in there. I also it’s getting the occasional nighttime erection as well. Two months out, I started vacuum, pumping, though, not totally disciplined in terms of daily use but it was something.
I suspect this had something to do with what is for now my surprise at how there is no perceived loss of length or girth. In fact, SI think about my attempts at masturbation over the last few months, with my semi limp noodle in my hand, that induced erection I have now is considerably harder than what I was playing with in the days before.
We all are concerned about pain. We all know that pain in our private parts is probably among the most fearful we can imagine. But what I wrote in my account above is true, until bedtime last night I had only taken three Tylenol, and during that time I traveled halfway across the country. Now, after I fell asleep last night, I woke up to pee. I felt for the first time something that I might consider “pain“. It felt like a low grade raw, mildly burning, feeling in my scrotum, and some soreness in my penis. I was not at all alarms and thought “A-ha, whatever nerve block Dr. Clavel has given me is, as advertised, wearing off“. I think it’s just the scrotum adapting to its new resident.
I woke up to pee, then took one of the two stronger pain medication‘s. He prescribed in combination with a Tylenol. I went back to bed, and slept six solid hours! I am awake now and moving around, and as of now, I feel no pain whatsoever.
Pretty lengthy, I know, but I wanted to reach out to you since we have the same surgeon. I noticed that Dr Clavell’s surgical coordinator multiple times on the “big board”, television monitor of surgery assignments for the day. He truly is, literally, a high-volume surgeon, and I am convinced he is destined to become one of the great implant specialist to the world. If he’s not there already.
