Infection?

Postby Badspartan » Sun Dec 18, 2022 3:42 pm

This picture was taken this morning. To me it still looks a little rough. There is more soreness now than right after surgery. Will try to get in to see my Dr in the morning

Brother the answer is the same as the one to your other thread. Infection is something very serious and needs to be addressed as soon as there is any sign. If caught early (like several days ago with your first post) there is a good chance at it being resolved with medication. If let go the risk at another operation is quickly increased to 100%. You need to get in to see someone asap. May not be infection of the implant but it should be dry now. If let go too long it can be game over. I would get into a minor emergency care or an er and have them contact your surgeon or who ever is on call. The faster you get started on meds the better. You really should have done this 2 days ago when you posted on your other thread.

Best of luck to you.

Badspartan waiting to take action on this could have serious consequences. Worst case you have an infection and they start treatment, best case is its a false alarm and you get peace of mind. Go see your doctor and get the answers you seek now.

The pic doesn't show anymore. That's a good thing. It's some gross and nasty puss. I'm not a doctor, but if I were to guess what an infection looks like, that would probably be it.

I saw the surgeon this morning and he said everything was fine. Said there was some superficial separation of the top layer of skin. Felt around the implant and said he couldn’t feel anything abnormal. Just keep it.clean and dry.

Thanks for all the help!!

Good news for sure. Keep an eye on it though and get back in if it does not improve. One member had a problem like yours and the same response from the doctor and it worsened into infected device. He had to have the device removed and then nothing could be placed back in. This resulted in scaring and not being able to have another device implanted. Be sure to check back and let us know how it goes.

Take care and all the best luck to you.
