Heat activated nitinol implant

Postby Manchester » Sat Nov 26, 2022 10:54 am

Any update on the heat activated implant that uses a wand to get erect? Apparently they started working on it in 2016 with hopes of it coming to market in 5 to 10 years.

It is financed by Boston Cientific, but thats all. I don't think that it xan expand like inflatable prothesis. It's like a malleable prothesis.

Reckon it’s worth waiting for or go for a 3 piece inflatable?

With no known release date you have to ask yourself how long you are willing to remain without sex anticipating a new product.

There is also this piece of advice from the computer industry, "Never buy version one of ANYTHING." (Although, I must admit that medical devices do go through better pre-release testing than computer programs.)

Was hoping by now they’d have at least started clinical trials but can’t find anything, do you think if I got the 3 piece I would eventually be able to replace it with the heat activated one (it it’s a success)

You're getting top notch advice. This is obviously many years away. Likely to have bugs in the early versions. I've posted before that the rigid implant that my father in law took to his grave isn't offered any more.
