Stressed out about surgery

Postby seekonk » Mon Nov 14, 2022 8:58 am

I'm getting so stressed out about the upcoming surgery that I can't sleep or think clearly anymore. I don't know if this is normal but I don't know if I can go through with it. I'm having moments where I feel maybe I can keep living alone and without sex.

It's OK. Any surgery will make one nervous.
My implant surgery was my only surgery as an adult. I went in totally blind because I didn't do much research and hadn't found Frank Talk yet. Everything turned out fine despite being uninformed.
Life isn't meant to live alone. Human nature should make us desire relationships with others. Our sexuality is just one small piece of our human ways, but an important one.
Hope you can relax and go through with it.

Hey, i was the same, keyed up in anticipation and a friend who is a therapist suggested during a conversation, that I take a low dose of valium for a short while to take the edge down a bit. I asked Dr Eid and he said it was a fine idea and gave me a prescription for a little over a weeks' worth. It was a big help and nothing wrong with doing it.

Seekonk,

You have done your homework on Frank Talk, you have considered all the pros and cons, you have selected your surgeon with care, you have done everything right, now you just have to submit to the surgeon so he can work his magic. I don't think you will regret it. It is hard to find anyone who is sorry they had the surgery; it is life changing.

You have admitted to yourself you don't want to live the rest of your life alone and without sex or you would not be this far towards the solution. Just stay positive, the most common expression you will hear on FT is, "I wish I had done it sooner."

I am two months out of surgery, and it gets better every day, I have no regrets whatsoever.

Mine is next month and I'm actually excited. I'm looking forward to 2023 being a much better year.

I dont have any appointment for surgery, buy Im considering to get implanted soon. Thinking about it causes me insomnia, I cant sleep most of the time. At the end I think is the best option I have.

Yeah I’ve been taking erection pills when I get up at night and then I get strong nocturnal erections and worry WTF I’m doing going for surgery.

I think the nocturnal erections are positional. They go away if I try using them. But what if I could still rehabilitate things less invasively? Maybe over time my scar tissue will go away.

I’m worried I’ll wake up 3 am the day of surgery with the nocturnal erection and just panic and get the hell out of Dodge city, bridges burned.
