Accidental Inflation - OOPS!

Postby dunbar57 » Tue Nov 08, 2022 11:31 pm

I got a Coloplast Titan 20cm+2cm implanted 10.26 by Dr. Paul Perito in Miami.

He sends his patients home deflated.

Two days later I went back to have my drains removed. The medical assistant said I was partially inflated, so he deflated me.

I was instructed to locate the pump and pull it down 10 times every time I urinated.

I've noticed that although I am flaccid I've seemed slightly bigger and harder at different times.

I went back yesterday to have my staples removed and the medical assistant said that I was partially inflated again.

He deflated me again but then it hit me. Apparently, when I've been pulling down on the pump 10 times, multiple times a day, I've been accidentally inflating a little.

All of a sudden my fears about having trouble inflating disappeared and I laughed like crazy.

Hi

I don't know what pump you have.

If you have the OTR, Coloplast's recommendation is that once the prosthesis is deflated, you should give at least one pump, pressing the bulb, to reverse the direction of the deflation valve. This should be done for two reasons, one is to avoid possible self-inflation, and two is to facilitate subsequent pumping by loosening the bulb a little.

If it works for you please tell us

I have the Coloplast Titan OTR, and that is exactly what I do. Deflate, squeeze the bulb once or twice. I used to auto-inflate until someone here mentioned that trick.
