Hey guys, I have been lurking on Franktalk for years but have only made an account recently. I recently had my Coloplast Titan implant done 3 weeks ago, and I still have somewhat hard bruising around the pubic area and inner thigh that is starting to fade but however is still there. My biggest concern is my testicles aren't as swollen anymore as it was post surgery but it is still very hard which makes it difficult to feel and locate the pump. I can feel it but I can't pump it as the scrotum feels really thick. I have also had bleeding coming from a small section of the surgical incision and am seeing my urologist tomorrow to see what he says. Based off what I have read on these forums, most guys are already able to cycle their implant around the 3rd week mark, but I am unable to even use the pump yet due to what feels like a hematoma in my scrotum so I cant touch the pump properly to cyle it. Most of my pain has gone away (even the bruising on my testicles no longer really hurt when I press on them) , I don't seem to have any fever and the bleeding from the incision doesn't seem to have any purulent drainage or foul smell but I am still extremely concerned.
If this is an infection, what are my options? I am a healthy 26 year old male, dealt with ED for over 5 years and it has eaten me from the inside mentally. I have tried my best to stay positive and tried many different options and seen many doctors until I decided to go with the implant this year. I have been told that having an infection means the end of my sex life, which I am dreading and hopefully isn't the case.
I apologise for the rant, and hoping somebody could shed some light for me.

Without a fever and without purulent discharge from the incision site I'd think an infection is unlikely. There seems to be a significant percentage of recent implant recipients who need some coaching and feel a lot of pain when trying to cycle for the first time. I'd personally just see what the urologist says tomorrow. We all tend to catastrophize when it comes to this - having had years of bad results both sexually and medicinally - which is totally understandable. Keep us posted tomorrow.

Hi 26,
I don't think you have a thing to worry about. I am 7 weeks out from surgery and I didn't have my first check up for 3 weeks, where I was deflated and shown how to inflate and deflate, but like you, my scrotum was way too inflamed for me to do it at home. I decided to just leave it alone for a week or so and the inflammation went down considerably during that time. I also had a little weeping of part of the incision for about 3 weeks.
When I first began to cycle, the tissue which would get caught between my fingers and the pump was still inflamed and the pump was as hard as a marble. It wasn't fun and it hurt a lot. Now at 7 weeks the pump is much easier to use, it has soften up quite a bit and it is not painful at all.
The good news is my wife says she can't tell the difference, so as far as I am concerned the implant is a success.
It's great you will be seeing your uro tomorrow, I think you will feel a lot better about it after the appointment.
Best of luck.

Welcome to the site. Doctors and men are different. Some doctors have men start cycling after 3 days if they can. Some doctors say leave it alone for 8 weeks and the some me have to wait longer than that. So it does not matter what other men with other doctors do. Your doctor knows how your surgery went and just follow the doctors instructions. The time to worry about how long you wait for activation is long gone and part of conversation with your doctor pre op.
As far as infection if it is caught early and treated aggressively with antibiotic's it can be cured. This does not happen often though. 3 weeks is a bit long to be having trouble with the incision I think. So ask your doctor about wound care instructions and ask if antibiotics would be a good idea.
Good luck and welcome to the brotherhood.
