Inflating

Hi all,

I can inflate and get my penis as hard as a wooden peg, but I can't seem to get to max inflation. At some point pumping gets easier. I'm sure I have no leak because I can stay hard as long as I want, but I don't understand why pumping would get easier. Initially it gets more difficult to pump as I get harder, which of course I expect.

Thanks for any input, guys.

The pump is hard to squeeze in the beginning, and when it is fully hard you continue to squeeze but no saline is pushed to the cylinders as they are already filled to the max. I can't tell why the pump gets softer, but this is normal. I can see that many of forum members brough up the same before.

Thanks very much! Makes sense. I thought based on what I have read elsewhere that I wouldn't be able depress the pump after maxing out. It takes less than 20 pumps to get there, but I'm sure that's because I have a small penis.

You mean when squeezing the pump the first 20 times it feels hard, but after 20 when you pump it it gets softer? I think you're talking about hitting the bypass valve. Googled it to make sure I explain it right, found this:

Maxing out isn't a thing. I think my Boston Scientific patient liaison explained it on the phone to me, something about how it's needed to stop people from damaging the device. For me getting your best measurements involves some figuring out when exactly more pumps start to have a negative effect on length.

I think cwatt1 means his pump get softer after about 20 squeezes, not his penis.

But doesn't the pump getting softer also cause the penis to get shorter? Meaning, it was inflating but once you hit the relief valve some of the fluid is removed, thus making your dick a bit shorter also.

That is exactly what I mean. And my penis doesn't seem to get any softer once I reach that point. So the idea of a release valve makes sense to me, to prevent over-pumping, I guess. It just surprises me, because everything I've read seems to indicate that it is not possible to overinflate since you can no longer add pump presses. Dr. Eid says in one of his instruction articles that you should get the pump as hard as a marble. Perhaps he's referring to the Coloplast though, which I am not familiar with.

Honestly I'm pretty confident that you're only experiencing this because you're 3 months out. Give it time, it won't be like this later. I remember the pump being rock hard. I also remember my size not changing at all regardless of pumps. You're literally breaking it in. This happens.

~87% sure you'll agree my comments will be correct when you're 6+ months. Though I am the rare type who can also admit to being wrong, because I often am. :)

Perfect exchange of information here IMO. At 6 - 8 months this won't be an issue/question for you anymore. What you are experiencing is temporary and I remember those days well. This also assumes you will be diligent and consistent with cycling, and it sounds like you will be. Enjoy the process you are where you should be right now!
