I think your survey a good idea, but not sure that it will tell you what you want to know.

Consider me as an example. I have the AMS LGX. As of today I’ve had it exactly 2 years, 10 months. It works better today than when grand new. It took a while but it’s softer, easier to inflate, and has never given me any trouble.

How long will it last? I have no idea. It might break tonight. But I stand a better chance of it still working in 12….15 years than I do of it quitting prematurely.

There’s anecdotal evidence that if a device is going to fail, it will do so fairly early. But it’s a mechanical device. Yeah, everyone says to expect about 10 years but that includes equipment that lasts a year and others that last 17.
Robust, adolescent 65 year old. Venous leakage forever. Used shots, shots+pills 30+ years. Married to same wife ~35 yrs. Implanted 31Dec2019 in Austin Tx. AMS 700 LGX 18 cm with 5 cm RTE.

I think this survey is very useful if all the impiatati will participate, I would have added how long you have the system with the same timing, to see also those who have it in progress without ever having had any problems, in this way the survey would have been complete, only my two cents

Oh sorry to hear this! Its far too early for a malfunction. I really dont know why this implants dont last longer. If you ask a surgeon they will say... at least 10years. But the reality here seems something different. I think if surgeons will be honest and say. around 3-4 years +/- some years there will be not so many implant patients I guess. The companies should look at every single device after it is broken to evaluate every cause of the malfunction. And after that they should make a betterment at the weakest part of the implant, just my opinion. But maybe they earn more if they produce crap... and can sell it more, who knows ;)

I believe AMS and Coloplast both come with a lifetime warranty. You still must pay for the surgery and all other costs involved so it’s not in their best interest to have revisions. I would guess Drs have to send in the old units from every revision.
58year old ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works but diminishing results with pain. Implanted 5-22 Baylor,Scott, and White Dallas.Dr Michael Wierschem, infrapubic Coloplast 20cm and 1cm RTE. Going strong and loving it!

in any case, both of them have an interest in saying that the implant has a duration of 10 years and up, both the manufacturers who pump their devices and both the doctors who at each revision grab a new payment as if it were a new implant , I say one thing. if urologists had to put the review out of their own pocket I think they would tell the truth, that implants that last 10 and more years are like white flies, in this small survey we are almost 50% from 0 to 2 years, 40% from 3 at 5 years old, and what's left is ridiculous, I would like to see if they told the urologist ... look ... if it doesn't last 10 years don't get a dollar, I would like to see how many urologists would say ... but look ... the implants that last 10 and more years can be counted on one hand, these implants are full of defects this is the truth, which then our desperation leads us to do it this is another matter, I understand that 11/12 people are nothing, but good morning it starts in the morning, which then our desperation leads us to do it this is another matter, I understand that 11/12 people are nothing, but good morning starts in the morning
