I’m scheduled for consultation
We’ll Dr. Lentz is pushed back all the way till March. I scheduled for the end of the month. I came clean to the VA doctor as well as my wife after a few scares. I was hiding the online viagra and cialis purchases that went along with the caverject and trimex. The scare came along due to me going temporarily blind on several occasions. I didn’t tell the doctors at the time about all the meds and alcohol. My blood pressure is always up when I have a doctors visit because I was alternating c and v almost nightly. My wife and I have a active night time PT life and I was trying my best to be ready. Injections have become super painful almost to the point of tears. Hopefully the implant will push me through this wall. We’ve been married for 21 years high school sweethearts, Marine Corps marriage at 18yrs old. We have been going like rabbits until my inability to perform. Between PTSD and 200mg of Zoloft, mental blocks and other meds including t- injections I ready to empty the medicine cabinet and just pump!

Hi Maddawg
First, I see you recently joined Frank Talk. Welcome! You will find a great deal of information, help and understanding. You are not alone!
Second, Sorry for the stuff you have been going through in your life, but glad no permanent damage resulted from the Viagra and Cialis. We grow up with our little buddy which is there through it all and our manliness revolves around our performance. You might try an autoinjector, it feels like a rubber band snap at worst, before going for the implant (sorry don't know how old you are, please add a short bio to signature)
Third, I love my implant, it takes that worry away, any time anywhere no needles or pills and scheduled sex. After so long you forget what it was like to be a horny teenager, lol. There are a lot of guys who are happy with the implant, and you can see the results. You do need to realize that your shaft will be more oval, there is a third nut, tubes and reservoir are slightly noticeable. I might suggest you do a show and tell so there are no surprises after everything else you have gone through.
I wish you the best and keep us informed. Please feel free to PM if you have any implant questions, I am happy to help.

I got to the point where the tri-mix burned when I injected. Then afterwards, I’d ache for hours. I really think the shots are great, but they end up failing after a while for most guys.
Zoloft is definitely not erection friendly. Wellbutrin was far better for me.
It looks to me like you are ready. The best of luck!

Re: I’m scheduled for consultation
Welcome to FT.
I can identify with painful injections and aching for hours. That’s the prostaglandins in TriMix.
It was so bad for me that I couldn’t stand it.
Regardless of whether you decide to get an implant or not, consider trying a mix without alprostadil (the prostaglandin). In my signature you can see my mix.
I was on Trimix, it ached like hell, so my doc switched me to QuadMix (TriMix plus atropine) and cut the dose so I was getting less prostaglandin with each shot. Less ache. Then we tried eliminating the prostaglandin altogether. No more ache.
So my mix is papaverine, phentolamine, and atropine. It works and I have no ache.
Give it a try. Even if you decide to get an implant at least you can get rid of the ache while you wait for your surgical date.
Enjoy.

Re: I’m scheduled for consultation
Congrats for taking the step to explore your issue. Many men never do, unfortunately.
Have to say I love my implant. Pills and injections both failed after a few years of use.
There is lots of good information here on FT. Read and gain the knowledge needed. Wish I had found this site before my surgery, I went into my surgery with zero knowledge other than it would allow me erections again.

It wasn’t so much the initial stick of the needle it’s the burning after the injection and it’s only 75%-80% erect. As far as oval vs round anything that gets hard I’ll take

Welcome to the forum Maddawg. Thank you for your service. Marines have my respect a LOT. I served in the Air Force.
I got my implant courtesy of the VA. Be sure to choose your surgeon carefully. It took me over a year to find mine, but I knew from reading here how important the judgement (which comes from experience) of the surgeon is.
You probably already know this, but self-medication is not your friend. I will jump to the conclusion that your blood pressure and other ailments are due to the mix of pharmaceuticals (including the alcohol) not being in good well-regulated proportions or timing.
Congratulations on having a supportive wife. Rely on her. Women are incredibly supportive if they feel trusted, loved, respected and safe. Get your primary care physician on board behind you. Be informed and make yourself an included part of your medical care team.
Go after your surgery in the same way you would pursue a military objective. Get your ducks in a row. Get supportive allies. When you talk to people on the phone or in person take contemporaneous notes and thank them by name. Thank them even if they were not helpful - they gave you their time and may be more supportive in the future (this happened to me in my quest to find a surgeon. A travel nurse who was unhelpful at first remembered me and called me up when she learned of a recently assigned surgeon who had actually taught the procedure.) Remember their names. People love to be remembered (and it does not hurt that they know you can call their superiors with complaint or praise). Be patient, but relentless.
