Hi All,
I am 10 days out of implant surgery and I was told at discharge, "It would be good if you pulled down on the pump every so often."
Up until now I have been too sore and swollen to even search for the pump and my scrotum has been tight like getting out of a cold pool. I have not been cleared to soak in a bath, but today I put some warm compresses on my scrotum and things loosened up enough I could find the pump. It was located extremely high so I could only feel the bottom of it, so I attempted to pull it down and after a while I got it down enough that I could feel the valve area, but it is still quite high.
I would like to know what you were instructed to do, what you learned and what your success has been. I don't go in for my first checkup until Oct. 10.
Thanks in advance.

I was told to do the same thing, which was challenging early on. For quite a while following surgery, my scrotum stayed very tight, with pump high and behind my right ball and hard to get to. I did the best I could and after my sac started relaxing and acting normal, pulling down on the pump got easier. I guess it worked because now when my scrotum is tight, the pump is a bit high and in back, but easily accessible. When my scrotum is relaxed and loose, like mornings or when warm, the pump just wanders around in there wherever it wants to, most often toward the bottom of my sac.

Re: Pulling down on the pump 10 days after surgery
This seems to be pretty common. I don’t know if it’s primarily infrapubic guys but I’ve heard of lots of guys dealing with this on here, as well as dealing with it myself.
At about 2 months I was getting frantic. I could get to the pump, but it was high and. Pretty damned inconvenient. During an office visit I asked the PA, who admitted mine was still pretty high, I needed to keep tugging on it, that it didn’t happen often but if it didn’t finally settle in a good spot they could open me back up and move it. He swore it was a minor procedure, maybe done under a local, but we hadn’t gotten to the point where we needed to do that.
I kept tugging. Then, one day before the 3 month anniversary, I woke up and my pump had established itself in a great place in my scrotum and it has never caused any more angst.
So pull and tug. Pressure not painful. Not constantly, but often…when you’re thinking about it.

Right now you don't have to do shit.
I didn't do anything at all until 34 days after my surgery. I got my implant Nov. 2nd, 2021. My urologist told me not to touch anything until I saw him again, so I didn't. We meet December 3rd (think I mistyped that date as being Nov. 30th in my post). He activates the device. I go home and still do nothing. It's sore and I didn't feel like it. And I didn't really know any better. I send my urologist this message on December 5th:

And he replies on the 6th about how it's not doing me any more good to wait. So I started. Well, not the first night because I couldn't figure out how to inflate it. I was squeezing on the deflate valve or something. Eventually I figured it out.
On December 7th I inflate it. It's only 6.5". HOLY SHIT! It used to be 8.75"!
But don't freak out, of course it's smaller now. So, start exercising it. I'm keeping a chronicle of my efforts to get back my size here. Roughly describes me being excessive and trying really hard (pulling, stretching, masturbating, VED'ing, Bathmate'ing, etc). It's been very effective so far!!!!!

Re: Pulling down on the pump 10 days after surgery
Thanks for the advice, guys!
When I first found the pump I could only feel the roundness of the bottom of the pump, it was riding as high as it could go in my scrotum. After a hot shower I was able to get it down some by using both thumbs one on each side to push it down. It doesn't stay there, the next day it will be nearly as high. I think I am making progress and there is no pain at all. I am glad to hear you guys had the scrotum very tight for a while, mine sure is, how long did yours stay tight?
Question, on your first visit did the doctor or PA physically pull your pump down? I am sure it must be easier if you know what you are doing.

Oh, I'm not familiar with this pulling down on the pump thing. I was told not to touch anything for a month so I didn't. Why do you need to pull the implant anywhere? Is it in a bad position now and you are hoping to relocate it eventually?

Re: Pulling down on the pump 10 days after surgery
Good question 2435tjklAS,
I have heard this comment on FT also, but my discharge Dr. was a Resident working under my surgeon at a teaching hospital made the comment that it would be good to pull the pump downward from time to time.
My scrotum has been very tight since the surgery, now 13 days out, and the pump is pushed up as high as it can go which is uncomfortable, not painful. I have been working on pulling the pump down several times a day and it does now seem to be staying further down in my scrotum. This is the only discomfort I have and have just been wondering what others have experienced, what instructions they have received and what successes they have had if they received the same instructions.
I did read one post here that their pump had adhered to the inside wall of the scrotum and it took a fair amount of manipulation to break it free. Has anyone here had that experience?

Ah, I don't think I know anything about this. Just not a thing that happened to me. My post is mostly irrelevant then, guess I felt like sharing.
