31 years old and seriously considering an implant. Thoughts?

Postby Sakabato » Tue Sep 20, 2022 6:26 pm

Long story short, ive been suffering from moderate ED for over a decade now. I took finasteride for 2 years when i was 20-21, and ive never been the same since then.

Libido is probably 10% of what it once was

Erection strenght is good when using viagra/cialis, but to actually get the erection is a struggle 80% of the time, i have to overly stimulate myself in order to have it. The other 20% of the time i do get it up without that much stimulation (possibly on days when im more well rested or simply feeling hornier overall)

Erections however, dont last. Changing positions is a no-no, the 10 seconds it takes for us to switch from missionary to doggy just to give an example, by the time we are in position my penis is already just half hard, which then i have to awkwardly stimulate myself for a while just to get it hard enough again to put it in and worst case scenario i take too much time, i get too much into my own head and simply dont get it up anymore and lose interest.

And since i have to constanstly be stimulated for the erection to stay strong, that means im constantly on the edge, just about to orgasm. So i end up in a catch 22 type of situation where i have to choose between losing my erection or cumming too fast.

Pills worked wonderfully in my mid and late 20s but just rencently viagra for whatever reason doesnt seem to work anymore and Cialis kind of does but nowhere near the effectivenes it had on me just a couple of years ago.

Im fit, workout every day, socially doing well, financial life is great, everything is great except for my ED problem which is eating me up from the inside and has me focused on it 24/7.

You know the usual thoughts, "okay we are going out to dinner today, gonna bring a pill", "We are catching a movie but what if she starts making out with me before the movie? Need to take a pill beforehand", you guys know the feeling im sure, it takes a lot of mental and emotional energy to plan around making love to a beautiful woman, and you know that you are not okay when she gets her period and you feel relieved that you wont have to worry about sex for a few days (even if you fully well know that you wouldnt give a crap about a bit of blood if you had a horny hard dick lol)

I guess it wasnt long story short after all. Im sure you guys are familiar with the anxiety and stress that dealing with this causes you. My question i guess is that, for those of you that have had an implant, do you think it would be a good option for me right now given my moderate ED? Can i have sex? Yes, most of the time. Is it a pleasurable experience? Not for me nor the girls i do it with id say. Am i a happy person regarding my sexual life? Hell no.

Any insight is appreciated. Btw ive already contacted Dr Clavell's office in Houston and im going to have a video consultation soon. Id be traveling from a diff country in the case i do decide to go with this. Would be paying out of pocket, money is not an issue if it means im getting this part of my life back.

Clavell is a great choice. I got mine at 31 (32 now) and am very very happy with the results. My outlook on life turned around and I can now freely date and all that without worrying about sex and performance. If you're sure that pills have failed, you just gotta go for it.

Hey Sakabato, most of what you wrote applied to me as well. I did the implant with Dr. Clavell earlier this year and I'm super happy with the outcome. I recommend him without a doubt, and the friendly vibe carries through surgery and beyond. I wish I had found the success stories on franktalk when I was your age and looking into implants.

Mid 30’s. ED since early 20’s. Pharmaceuticals were helpful initially, but stopped working. Implanted with Titan 22cm -.5cm (no RTEs) by Dr. Clavell 1/26/2022.

Hi Bro,

I totally understand you. I used finasteride myself 20 years ago. Till 6 years ago i could still have sex. But that was in a steady relation without condom. After divorce, i was more focussed on ED and started Cialis. Worked great first 2, 3 years, than vanished.
Tried injection one time which resulted in a priapism and a visit at the E.R. No, i avoid woman because of my ED.

I'm also looking into an implant. The flaccid state is witholding me at the moment. Think about if it's ok for you to become in akward situations as people think you're aroused. Is it ok for you to change your wardrobe?

Things you could try befor implant:
- Injections, with an antidote after hand. Over here we don't get antidote's, but in your case as you live in the USA you probably would get.
- Did you checked your hormonal levels. If Low T and Low E, you could try Enathate or Cypionate, but honestly it probably won't make sence.
- Did you checked your prolactine level? Probably high and you probably have gyno. If so you could try Cabergoline, but only on a Dr's supervise.

Do you have a curvature in your penis, especially to the left?

Also for the moment, use a VED for penile health and maintaining size.

Viaswiss also used Finasteride and had an implant in his 30's. Read his journal on the board. For what i can read he is very glad he did.

Good luck.

Nice to see Dr. Clavell has good reviews in this forum. Any advice before i go in? You lost any size?

Yeah, finasteride is poison. I also took Accutane when i was in HS, which is another poison drug. I figure that triggered balding which i had to counter with propecia, which in turn gave me ED for life. Go figure lol.

I was able to make it work somehow, solved up the balding problem with an excellent hair transplant, solved ED (somehow) abusing pills, viagra, TRT etc which worked for a few years, but i guess im out of ideas now.

Why would i need to change my wardrobe? I dont mind a big bulge TBH, unless it looks like a monster hard on at all times which would be really weird.

Dont get me wrong i can still get an erection, its just incredibly stressful now. I have to fight for every single erection with teeth and nails lol, and keeping the erection long enough is another boss fight.

Im tired about going out with a girl and not being able to focus on the conversation or in her because deep down im only thinking about how the sex is going to play out, if any. I cant leave my wallet near a girlfriend because i worry that she will snoop around and find the viagra pill hidden there which would make for an extremely awkward conversation.

I understand an implant is a one way street, theres no coming back for that. The way i see it, if it works as its supposed to work and things go smoothly, and i get 5-10 years of a hard dick on demand, and i can still orgasm normally or enjoy sex, then im sold. Ill deal with the awkwardness of pumping, hiding it, explaining why i have it if someone gets close enough, etc. All i know its that i have so many good years ahead of me that i could enjoy whether as a single man or in a relationship but right now i cant.

And thinking forward, if at 31 im heavily stressed about it, how will i do at 41? Things wont get better thats for sure, what if i get married? Am i going to live permanently stressed and see sex as a chore until i literally cant get it up anymore? Not sure i want to wait that long.

Btw i dont live in the US. Id be flying from Mexico to Houston and stay there for a few days for recovery.

Highly recommend Clavell! He will take care of your needs, rest-assured! Had my implant 1.5 years now at 32 and it is the best decision of my life.

I also suffered ED for a little more than a decade and I lost size. I recommend you use a vacuum to begin stretching you penis. This will help Clavell use the maximum size implant.

Looks like you've maybe already made up your mind, but my thoughts are this. I would not get an implant at your age and your level of function. You've already made it clear to me that your natural penile erections still happen. Who cares if it goes down slightly and you have to rub it. That's what our hands are for, and that how the pills will help. You might not even need the pills if you hadn't already started on them and now convinced yourself that you have to have it. It almost sounds like you are too proud to touch your penis and expect it to be like an iron rod the minute you unzip your pants! That's doesn't sound like nature. Give yourself a break and realize you are 31, and not 16. I'm not saying you're old or sex is over, but age gracefully.

I say don't be lazy about popping a pill for sex once in awhile. It shouldn't be that much of a bother to pop a pill. People all over the globe have to take time or remember to take their meds for dozens of other reasons. You took finasteride pills back in your twenties, so why whine about boner pills if you even need them? I assume you took the finasteride for your hair. Who knows what finasteride does to a man long term, but you might need to give yourself decades of time to get over its use. According to wikipedia it is sometimes used by transwomen for their transition. So it obviously works on androgens. I would get my hormones checked, and I'm gonna tell you what everybody is telling me. Some guys lose their hair plain and simple. I'm doing it and I'm 39. Every time I comb my hair I can gather hairs off the comb. It regularly covers my shower drain too. Everybody tells me there's nothing really one can do, so I just accept it. I'm not trying to be harsh with you, and this is your decision to make, but I wouldn't do away with all natural feel and function just to avoid taking a pill once in awhile or to avoid using your hand to "fluff" yourself. Haven't you heard they use "fluffers" in porn?

I definitely have not made up my mind on this lol. The thought of having someone slice open my penis and stick tubes up there its frightening and crazy as fuk. 2 months ago i would have never considered it.

But you gotta understand ive been dealing with ED for the last 10 years. Propecia killed my libido, and ive been off of it for 10 years now.

It has gotten to the point now where i see sex as a chore, and im so anxious about it that ive put a negative connotation to it.

Viagra used to give me the hardest erections of my life, and would be able to keep thrusting non stop even after the first orgasm. Of course my face would look like a swollen tomato and id get hot to the point women would ask me why i feel so hot to the touch but other than that, it worked wonderfully.

Until it didnt. Im finding myself having to mix both cialis and viagra lately and upping the dosages too. Now i have a girlfriend living with me and im on daily 20mg cialis basically. Im rarely horny (in part due to stress i guess), erections are weak and dissapear at the first chance they get.

Ive lost many opportunities over the years to have sex with beautiful women because i simply dont want to bother going trough the process of taking pills, chatting her up while wondering if the pill is going to work, worrying about cumming too fast and knowing i cant go a second round to save my life, etc.

At this point is both a physical and mental problem (as it always is with ED i assume), and i do wonder if its worth it to go the next 10 years or so of my life worrying about my ED as opposed to just having it ready to go whenever i want at the cost of some risk and some uncomfortable steps.

I suffered from intermittant ED from the time I got married at 27 until I was 56 and had the implant. I used Viagra and at first, it worked well. However, a few minutes into a sexual act, I would start losing my erection, just like you describe. That is almost as bad as not getting an erection in the first place and here is the clincher: I injured my penis and had Peyronies because my penis was not erect-enough during intercourse. Use the pills till you get to the point that you are having trouble and then have the implant. It was an easy process for me, and I barely had bruising or swelling. I also have been restored to my original size and shape.
